Really great abrasion resistance and though I've never put the Big Game line kzbin.infoUgkxQ4x31pJVpClzhxzNFeILZYTW7Xbs7ZIF (any poundage) through an official test it always seems to break well above rated poundage. This line stretches a very good amount before it breaks and does well in saltwater too. Not the best line for a spinning reel in my opinion, especially if you're planning on using it for lures only due to it having a bit of memory but still a great line whether filling a spool, using as top shot or strictly for leader line. I've bought a bunch of Big game line in the past and plan on continuing to do so in the future.

Thank you! Question: I know that with many knots, it's important to thread the line back through loops in a particular direction (that is, the same way it went through the first time). What is the rule with this loop knot? Thanks again!
@FishingwithNat6 ай бұрын
That is important with some knots (especially line-to-line knots like an Alberto knot or blood knot), but I don't think it matters either way with this knot.
@Deven2108 ай бұрын
What do you libricate the knot with? I know this may be a stupid question so I apologize in advance.
@FishingwithNat8 ай бұрын
Most people lubricate it with saliva by just putting the line between their lips. Another option is to rub water on it or dip it in the lake (while still holding onto the lure to make sure it doesn't fall off of the knot).

Why knot just use a snap clip? ( without a swivel ). That way you can change lures without re-tying? Is the knot better than a snap clip?
@FishingwithNat2 ай бұрын
It depends who you ask. I personally use snaps often and I think they offer the same benefits as a loop knot. Others will swear that a loop knot is better. I made a couple of underwater comparison videos about this exact question (3 minutes and 4 minutes). kzbin.info/www/bejne/iH6QnqB4iMSshZY kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4O2mXlrqb6AetE

Everyone else I’ve seen do this knot sends the tag end through the overhand knot loop after it’s run through the eye of the lure.
@FishingwithNat7 ай бұрын
That will also work. There are lots of ways to tie a loop knot that perform well.
@jamesdrakos72566 ай бұрын
That’s how I was taught . Improved clinch pretty much and the overhand knot just holds your loop from slipping to the eye of the lure .

@FishingwithNat16 күн бұрын
So you undo the knot to slip the lure off and then retie it?
@bytemee051315 күн бұрын
@ I can do that ,it’s just big enough to loop the line around the lure so I don’t have to untie it looks a loop knot either way works fishing in the cold weather I want the quickest way possible
@BrokenFox92 жыл бұрын
How about to a swivel clip so can change lures quicker?
@FishingwithNat2 жыл бұрын
Good timing - I am releasing a comparison video this evening that looks at loop knots, snaps, swivels, split rings, etc. and compares them all above and below water.
@BrokenFox92 жыл бұрын
@@FishingwithNat I found that swivel clip changes how my lipless crankbait moves. If I put a flat clip it wobbles better for some reason. Same for my jerkbaits and swimbaits. Idk maybe it’s just me
@FishingwithNat2 жыл бұрын
@@BrokenFox9 I think a swivel clip/snap swivel is typically unnecessary on crankbaits. Crankbaits rarely cause any line twist that would justify the swivel part, unless the retrieval speed is too fast. I tend to direct-tie with jerkbaits to keep them balanced when suspending.

I thought you were supposed to go up through your first before the turns around your main line. Then go back down through the knot first knot and then tighten.

will this work for top water whopper ploppers?

Yes but there's no real reason for a loop knot on a whopper plopper since it just retrieves straight back. A snug knot like a modified Uni or Trilene knot tends to be stronger.

Put a trace wire on that has a clip , you just clip a new lure on instead of making new knots every time .

You can adjust the loop size to your preference as you tie the knot. Just bring the overhand knot closer to the lure eye before tightening it.
