In this food chain fishing challenge we use crickets, minnows, and worms to catch bluegill. We then use the blue gill to catch big bass!

This video is old now, but coming from someone who uses bluegill as live bait for both bass and catfish get yourself some large circle hooks. You need to have plenty of gap exposed on the hook when you throw the bluegill on there, and with the circle hooks you just reel down on the fish. They stay on better with circle hooks too.

You have to have to have to upgrade your hook size. You can’t catch a 10 pound bass on a pan fish hook guys. It will bend out if it even ever gets hooked in the bass’s mouth.

I would reccomend using bigger circle hooks like a 5/0 or a 6/0 from gamakatsu. Better hookup ratio then the 2/0
