Wouldn't be so sure of that mate, after years baking in the heat with almost no rain the trees were dropping dead from that alone now after being incinerated it might not be able to come back. Not to mention as soon as we get a big pulse of rain lots of those lovely bass and perch will be killed by the amount of ash in the water. Good times

As one of your cuzzies across the ditch, it's so sad to see the devastation from the fires. Seeing the landscape obliterated, the animals maimed & killed, the daily struggle of your fellow countrymen... brings a tear to the eye. Looking at the bush around the river there, the whole ecology must be affected eh? Insects, birds, small to large animals & even the fish life has to be suffering in the food chain. Awesome videography Timmy, love your work. I look forward to the next one... stay safe...

When you look at the devastation to the forests done by these fires it's somewhat sad, but beautiful in its own way and once the autumn comes these areas recover very well, in times gone by fires used to start by lightning strike and just burn till nature put them out, nowdays we rush in and put them out without giving much thought as to what this does to the environment, did you kniw that a lot of Australian natives actually require a fire for the nut holding the seed to release the seed? While others require fire to crack the shell of the seed so it can germinate, while fire is devastating to humans and the bush it's up to us to be aware of the impact we as people have on the environment not just in how we act but also how we think. The blame game is just a simple way to excuse yourself from the real issues we face when in fact we are all responsible for what has happened and will happen in the future😉 Thanks for the video Timmy👍as others have said your certainly giving us some great quality and enjoyment 😉

Peter Eaton I think pretty much everyone in Australia knows our bush is designed to burn. The problems only happen when people build their houses in the middle of it...
@barryfrench25344 жыл бұрын
Just listen to the background, the Cicadas are out in droves after the fire went through, decent food source for birds and animals whilst the land starts its inevitable recovery and most of that bush is only scorched. After a big fire went through the Kulkyne in the late 70's I found out there was such a thing as the Mallee Pine, later discovered It had not been seen for around 60 years and was thought to be extinct. Be an interesting video in 12 months along this same waterway to show how fast the bush can recover.
@petereaton67404 жыл бұрын
@@barryfrench2534 it won't take 12 months for change, as soon as there is enough moisture the suckers will start to grow out of the tree trunks and ground cover will start to show. It is interesting what comes back after a wildfire and nice to hear a once thought extinct plant has returned👍
@barryfrench25344 жыл бұрын
@@petereaton6740 You are correct regarding the timeframe. I was thinking that in 12 months the height of those new growths would be a nice counterpoint as well showing how many animals\birds will be around.

That kookaburra at the beginning sounds just insane in surround! Everything looks so... crispy. I don't know the fish name, but not the bream or the bass, but the other one. I think those are what you kept losing. Their mouth looks a lot like a crappie, actually the rest of it does too. Anyways, the mouth is sooo soft and delicate, lighter line and a real flexible rod stops hooks from tearing right out. They got lips like wet gas station toilet paper but not as strong. Just awful devastation from the fires, and I'm told the fire season has only just begun. Hopefully you catch a break and get a good rain and there's enough surviving wildlife for populations to recover quickly. Best of luck, and be careful.
