Almost every boat I've seen that had plywood decks and/or floors wind up rotting out in a year or two. I had to make some seat tops for a 1969 14ft V-hull aluminum boat I bought. So, I used plywood, sealed it with urethane and then covered them with indoor/outdoor carpet. They rotted and warped after one year! Since I don't have a mig/tig welder I replaced the rotted seat tops with double width 2x10's and finished them with UV resistant spar urethane. I installed two seat mounts and bought two very comfortable padded boat seats (I'm old)! I added a brand new 18hp outboard, a new Garmin fish finder, new LED lights, new Minn Kota trolling motor and a new Li Po 100ah battery to run the trolly and the lights. The trailer only needed tires and new bunks. I can live without a casting deck and flat floor. I do all of my fishing sitting down anyway!

I had an old tinny until the alloy around the bung hole popped out. Metal fatigue sent us to Davey Jones locker. On closer inspection after recovery the hull was full of pin holes from landing it on sand so many times. Happy boating.

Spraying steel with zinc or any other coating for marine use is not ideal at all. Galvanise if you at all can 🤷‍♂️

Fisheries need to go after pro fisherman as this is where the real crimes are commited, i have worked on pro boats and the udersized carnage, catching and dumping thousands of undersized fish at a time on every single trip, the damage done by these guys is unfathomable every time the go out, fisheries need to leave the average fisho alone and do their job properly. And as for the muppet thet dobbed these guys in....Get a life and wake up....
