this is crazy! awesome! I grew up in Pennsylvania until I was 13. I never knew that PA allowed this style of hunting. I live in Ohio now and you're not allowed to shoot from a boat at a deer or a deer on water. if you guys ever want to hunt in Ohio, look me up. I don't gun hunt a lot, but I love to bow hunt!

Which river is this float on? Great job videotaping this all!
@pensnut082 жыл бұрын
You ever use the raft as a way into areas and then hunt out of stands, sit or still hunt? Hunting out of a boat by drifting down stream seems to be a lost art in our fast paced "now, now, now!" world. Way to keep it alive!! I use my boat like people using their truck to get to their hunting spots. It's my truck on the water! It's nice because I can hunt 2 states. Which helps to not burn spots out.

I have used my kayak to cross rivers to access pieces no one wants to hike to. It is an overlooked way to hunt for sure. Thanks for watching!

I use a canoe, but I’m interested in the boat your using. Can you provide me some information on it?
@HardwayOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
It’s a smith fly raft and my buddy Jesse builds frames for them. If you’re interested I can put you in contact with him. Email me at collinsdc@hotmail.com

Awesome video. 100% legal. I'm surprised you don't get harassed though
@HardwayOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Some people harass in the comments and my private messages but, It’s all good. I know they mean well trying to stand up for wild game and people following the laws. I understand it’s not a common way to hunt in Pennsylvania and many people don’t know the laws. I do my best to try and educate them on the laws for this style of hunting. Thank you for watching!

Well, that’s a pretty awesome hunt. We have some lakes here in WV that can be hunted from water but not many rivers run through that much public. There are probably some areas but I am not aware of them

Many States this is a case of LOSS of BOAT and TRUCK, looks easy ? No sound or smells to give you away.

The way the regulations are written in PA ( from my understanding) is you can hunt from a boat as long as it's completely human powered
@HardwayOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Correct, you can shoot from a watercraft as long as it’s human powered. You may You a watercraft with a motor to travel to a hunting spot, but you must exit the craft before shooting. Thanks for watching!

Can you say stand up.......
@lukezebrowski20592 жыл бұрын
Vehicles While Hunting You cannot hunt from a vehicle. That’s a big no-no. Pennsylvania law prohibits hunting from any vehicle or conveyance of any kind propelled by anything other than manpower. This does not include a motorboat or a sailboat if the motor is completely shut off, the sail is furled, or the progress of the boat has been completely seized. When you’re traveling to your hunting site, your hunting long guns must be completely unloaded when they’re in the vehicle, even if you have a License to Carry Firearms. Even if you see that prize buck from the side of the road, you cannot hunt from your car. You have to get out of your vehicle. This also means that you cannot use an ATV or motorized scooter to aid you in your hunt. If you use such a vehicle to get to your campsite, that’s fine, but make sure that you’re only hunting while on foot.

In Pennsylvania you may actively hunt from a watercraft if it is under human power. And the target animal may NOT be in the water when you shoot it. I have never or ever will violate a game law. Thank you for watching and voicing out. I know you mean well standing up for legal hunting and I am right there with you. However, you are misinformed about hunting out of a human powered watercraft in the state of Pennsylvania.

Yes, for instance, people have hunted at Raystown Lake this way for years. I assume they still can.
