I think it would be great if when yall hunt these spots in the fall yall reference these scouting videos. That way we can see how it actually played out.

Thanks for sharing. This old man is still learning after 60 years of deer hunting. I am usually covered with ticks by the time I get out of the woods during summer scouting here in Missouri.

Lot's of us say we will use a kayak or canoe to sneak in- but so few of us, myself included ever actually follow through. I can't think of a better video than floating a nice buck out of the woods in November with a kayak. I plan to do it this year... I hope, maybe. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for this video... I was hoping y’all would do a video in the series on creeks... I learned allot from it... I hunt creek bottoms here on public in Texas due to how thick it is here ... I’m gonna use these methods and try to get on more deer.. Keep’em coming...👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Great video. I had an immediate question when I began watching it but, you sort of answered it at the end. Getting too close to the beds make me nervous but, you obviously don't have a problem standing right in them. Am I being too cautious? I'm sure it's not something you do in the same spot that often. Thanks for the great content!

Brandon Napier we see bucks come right back to them often. Main thing is to scout one time and leave it alone until you go in to hunt

100 yards is a pretty long ways in the woods. If the deer can't see you, and you can set up fairly quietly, that's plenty far enough away from them to not spook them out of their beds. I've gotten in tree's, looked around, and had sleeping deer within 50 yards. We have very quiet access to our permanent stands. Going slow and being methodical is key.

What about a shelf on a steep hill overlooking an oxbow? Would that be worth checking for a mature buck to bed? The shelf is up about 30 feet above creek and overlooking oxbow in typical hardwoods and is on the north side of the oxbow and southside of hill.

Hi guys. I scouted a creek for buck crossings the other day. There’s a spot down stream that I missed a really big six point. I know the area well, it’s open hardwoods that get really thick with swamp and big fields on each side! The deer bed in the really thick stuff on each side of the creek depending on wind. I found a set of big buck tracks right at the crossing that I had an encounter in 2016. One set of boot tracks it gets moderate pressure. The thing is the wind was a south southeast wind and was consistent. I kept checking the wind. Here’s the kicker, were I found the tracks the wind was swirling in a good 50-70 yard span. I think because of topography. There’s an interstate were the creek runs under and it’s on a big hill it runs east to west! The creek runs north to south! That ridge or hill creates one of those thermal swirls or tunnels. It’s very interesting that the buck tracks were only in that spot of the creek! I don’t think that’s a coincidence! My question is would be best to hunt on a strong wind or no wind day? Very cagey deer in this particular area and I’m stubborn

QUESTION- I know this video is 3 years old at this point and i have a question regarding river accessing public here in Iowa. Have you guys had situation where the river gets to low to float, you have to get out and walk that section before you can get back in the boat and continue down river and dragging a kayak across the rock makes a bit of noise. I have a couple of place where i use a kayak to access public but these last few years in Iowa the lack of rain has made river access difficult. Even though i am going and out in the dead of the night with the perfect wind I worry about that noise especially when i am getting close to the public land i am accessing. I am alone and these are tricky enough spots to get into without any other type of access. Do you have anything helpful tips???? If there is a video you guys have done that cover this perhaps you can help me get to it BUT if you have done a video like this perhaps you guys could make one. I REALLY HOPE to hear from you. Thanks guy, love your work.

How do you guys scout in mid summer and not sweat your asses off or get demolished by mosquitoes. In southern Ontario where we are mid summer scouting is next to impossible even with thermocell. You guys looks super comfortable and don’t seem to have the issue with mosquitos, any tips?
