Seeing this only now, starting at, ep 6...Joseph : *😅So, *magically* we see her get buried"* This was a sampling of 'expectations' which I probably have no patience for to watch, *but* your emoting, comments at every turn of events here, is entertaining replacement for that 'lost visual!☺

I find myself enjoying your commentary on the show more than the show itself 😂🤣. I lost interest after episode 3. And just opted into following the storyline through your recaps. Joseph has repeatedly pointed out this shows inability to connect the viewer to the historical context. After ep 3 I did a deep dive on the reign of King James, and the roles Mary and George Villiers played during this time. It makes so much more sense. This show solely latched onto the drama, but left viewers who are unaware of King James reign in the closet. Which is unfortunate. One more point, they could have highlighted so much more, like King James hypocrisy, going a murder spree against his own community. Alas…

I am guessing that this and the omen film were done at the same time. No pretty views of fish jelly with all the expressions we need. Funny to say, when you speak, I can still see your expressions in my mind!

James was in huge avoidance mode. Having the Queen's body brought into his room forced him to deal with it. Royal men were expected to get married to women and have babies. James wouldn't be jealous of George with a woman, only other men. Women were baby vessels.

References to Steve Buscemi and Elijah Wood: ‘He does have a creature-ish look’ . . . 🤣 And yes, this series is both tiresome and drab. 🤣

Fact of the matter is…………….sadly rushed series. I feel the network didn’t want to "invest” in a lgbtq series THAT HARD. It had so much promise, initially. In the beginning, I went into the series just on the pretense of knowing it was a Julianne Moore “show “. I honestly didn’t do any research on it. I love anything that has to do with that era (regarding aristocrats). Then, after the first episode, I became intrigued. Although it was jumbled, I still enjoyed the series. I don’t feel like I wasted my time.
