Michelle Pfeiffer comparison to Kristen Wiig is perfect. When she went from Selena Kyle to Catwoman... THAT was a transformation. From nervous, shabbily dressed, insecure, to fierce, ferocious, sexy Catwoman. This time it's the same lady with the same look, but oh, she's got heels on and a smokey eye. Putting some heels on does a lot to make a lady feel sexier than she normally would, but its not enough to illustrate a great transformation in a movie.

the reason why Cheetah can break through the armor is because in the comics Cheetah is supposed to considerably stronger than Diana. Of course the movie doesnt show you that.

So, they named it 1984 and even though the first thing you think of is Orwell's novel, the movie has zero connection to it? Welp, that's a choice. Too bad it turned out so lackluster, the first film was fun.

This script is bonkers. The Wishing Stone is from the Sandman, the DC comic from the 90s that is being adapted for Netflix this year. when Diana was talking about how the Wishing Stone was "created by one of the older gods" I really honestly thought that Sandman or his sister Desire were going to be the secret big bad ala Ares in the first movie. Allan Heinberg, who wrote the first movie, was not brought back by Patty Jenkins to finish the final rewrites on WW84. So Heinberg went on to write The Sandman series for Netflix.

I think y’all are the only ones saying how BAD Kristen Wiig’s makeup was after her wish, I don’t usually notice this stuff but from the first trailer I knew that was a problem. But other than that I like you review of the movie👍

Kristen as Barbara was like, the fourth time we've had a bumbling nerdy put-upon office worker, and the third in a dc film.

Lord, I’m watching it now on HBO, and I almost fell out when I noticed there’s still an hour to go!!!! It feels soooooo long. I might have to watch it in two sittings! I do like Kristen Wiig’s performance so far. She’s not as over the top, as most mousy soon to be villains, are in these movies.

@@fishjellyfilmreviews - I finally finished it. I didn’t hate it, but man was it long! Also the ending was VERY hokey and silly. Gal Gadot looked fabulous. Chris Pine looked hawt. Kristen Wiig was cute, the Cheetah looked meh. Thanks for your awesome reviews!

Guys where in the film connects Maxwell Lord to the Jewelry Store heist? I’ve rewatched it several times, but I’m always confused by how Max knew about the stone? What did I miss? ❤=W=

I guess you would had to be a teenager in the 80s to appreciate this movie. I didn't like the first WW, found it boring, but this one both my husband and I really liked.

Glad you mentioned Patty Jenkins' first movie Monster. I enjoyed 1984, but Monster is still my favourite film from her. The scene in 1984 where Barbra takes revenge on the creepy guy harassing her echoes the scene in Monster where Charlize takes out the first John who was raping her. It's cool Jenkins could self reference herself, especially considering the disparity in tone and content in each movie and was able to incorporate a scene from a dark, brutal R-rated picture into family targeted PG13 blockbuster. Both films succeed though in exploring the motivation that would drive a woman to commit such harsh deeds.

So many things about this movie offended me on a spiritual level - and i tried really hard to enjoy this movie. I cried when she had to give up Steve, the costumes and music were nice, and that's about it.

I really do enjoy a lot of your reviews but as a half-Caucasian I don't understand all the anti-white kind of comments that are made about women that are white or men that are white. I realize the kind of world we live in right now and I also understand the plight of African Americans in our country, however I'm not sure that the best way to bring us all together is to bash each other by calling people Karens or many of the other insults that are used against Caucasians. The best way for us to come together is through understanding and communication.

Did you just come to this Channel's comments to vent and express this point? I am lost....What does this have to do with their analysis of WW84?

I appreciate honest reviews, but you guys sound like you didn't even watch the movie; or at best even paid attention. You can't even keep the important plot points, or names in the movie straight. You had to keep correcting each other. That hurts your credibility. I watched it and loved it.
