Hey Paul......Paul here and no I'm not your alternative reality version of yourself....just a guy with a cool name. But I do have to say that I disagree with you about WW84. It was not good at all. Contradicted itself so much and very anti-climatic. I was expecting so much more with all the hype around it and especially after the 1st movie was so well received

You quite failed to explain the main plot of the movie. The fact that Max renounced his wish MADE everyone to renounce their wishes. This manipulative behavior of the stone where a wish makes people act upon the stone's will can be seen throughout the whole movie so I don't understand why it is not mentioned anywhere and people assume everyone just renounced their wish like "yeah, why not, good idea". This is extremely important because it's connected to the origin of Diana's biggest villain - Cheetah. She lost her apex predator version which is stronger than diana (explains why she was able to kick ass to the armor which held the world), but she keeps her first form "strong AS diana" she wished from the stone itself and which wasn't granted by Max. This means after this movie, Cheetah exists. So many people missed this.

There was definitely a clear resolution, the stone is remade as Maxx renounced his wish. The writing was done in such a way that all audiences including kids can enjoy. The source material is, at its core, a little corny but that’s what comic books are about - fun. They condensed some story arch’s and didn’t kill of her key villains so they can come back again in other works. That’s way better than Marvel who pretty much murders every great villain yet 95% super hero’s survive the adventures. I think what people didn’t like is that the ending doesn’t climax but with extreme violence but rather love. I think especially in this year, love is what we all needed.

I really liked this movie, but yeah the writing problems. Lately specifically with this, Amazing Spider Man 2, and Fantastic Beasts, what is interesting is all of them are movies packed with good ideas, but they have problems with their execution. In all those cases it was also that the director wrote AND it was the first time the director wrote a screenplay, and man does it show.

@FEAR No More I'll elaborate further. Spoilers so dont read if you you dont wanna know. You've been warned. Yes it could have used more action but there were also too many plot holes. For example, it's establised that you only get one wish. Except when Max decides that Cheetah gets two. There were also exposition scenes that werent needed. The mayan guy for example. Completely useless scene. They could have established the same facts from Minerva's reading the microfiche. They established how WW has an invisible jet, I'll give them that, but now she can fly just because she listened to Steve? If you're going to establish rules for your universe then you need to stick to them. The whole movie had a very...Superman II sort of vibe. Not as grounded as the first WW and a bit too campy. Pedro Pascal's performance was a bit over the top. Not really menacing at all. And his back story felt sort of crammed in at the end. It would have much more effective had it been spread out throughout the movie. So we could have understood his motives better. It would have made him a much more sympathetic villan. Now, is this Batman v Superman bad? Or Justice League bad? Or Suicide Squade bad? No. But neither is it as good as the first WW nor even as good as Shazam. After the first WW, I had high hopes for this one and, sorry to say, it didnt live up to the expectations or hype. 3 out of 5....6 out of 10...However you wanna score it.

She is a demi-god, so there's no way any normal Amazon could beat her, or either Cheetah. In the first movie, it was stated only a God can hurt or kill another God. Plus, in the comics, WW is nearly equal to Superman. So unless Cheetah is a God or a Kryptonian, this makes no sense at all.

Cheetah clearly was no where near as powerful as WW with her full powers back, heck, even a little electricity shocked Cheetah, but WW didn't even blink.

Cheetah is equal to Wonder Woman in the comics. She literally gets her powers from Urzkartaga, a African God. I have a theory that Asteria is Diana’s biological mother. It would explain the black hair, and why the description of Asteria’s personality is almost exactly like Diana.
@faze_buendia95143 жыл бұрын
I think it's Absolutely Ridiculous that Diana would wish for Steve Trevor back over say, being able to go back to Themyscira to see her family, or wish for her favorite Aunt, Antiope, to come back to life, or about a hundred other things that, logically would be more important. I'll say that Diana needs to 'get over it', it's been literally about 80 yrs since Steve Trevor died; even if she didn't meet anyone else in the years since; time heals all wounds, seriously. After 80 yrs how could she still care so deeply for a person she spent merely a few days with among her 8+ centuries-long life. He was a blip in her life; even if they had a deep connection, how could she hold on to that so tightly w/ only her memory of him to fuel those feelings? I would think that even a lonely 80 years would collect enough memories to fade feelings for someone she didn't even spend a whole month with. I blame the writers for this, not Diana or Gal just to be clear, the story is all over the place in this movie

@@robertahearne423 let’s see. Chris Pine was. WW1 pilot but somehow knows how to fly a modern fighter jet, the belief that every single person in the world would renounce their wish, the fact that the bad guy could just walk into the Whitehouse, that you can fly a fighter across the world with no refueling and a biggie. He leaves his son and goes on his quest to be all powerful and damn near destroys the world and then hops into Marine 1 and then drops into the exact spot his son has wondered into and simply calls his name and the kid walks out of the bushes. That’s just the major ones I can think of off the top of my head a week later. It also blew a hole in the movie where Batman finds Diana. He only had the WW1 pic but in this movie she is all over the place. He would not have had to locate her like he did in that movie. For a Superhero movie to work we have to play lose with reality a bit, but this was beyond stupid.
@robertahearne4233 жыл бұрын
@@gcaskew Cool. Let's look at these: 1) How likely is it that a WW1 ace could figure out how to take off, travel, and land a modern jet? That's a question for a pilot. The essentials of flying haven't changed. 2) You *do* understand the movie as a whole is a metaphor for the world's response to climate change? For neither that nor the movie plot was it necessary for every person who had made a Dreamstone wish to renounce their wish. All that was necessary was for enough people to renounce so that calamity would be averted. 3) Dude. Lord found someone to wish that Lord had an audience with the President ASAP. Magic enabled him to just walk into the WH. 4) Steve & Diana stolen plane's range: Agreed. Jenkins skipped the fuel question so as to not detract from pacing but still use a plane which resembled Wonder Woman's invisible jet from the comics. (DC-Cairo is 5800 miles. Modern long-range fighter-bombers max out around 1000 miles IMU.) As plot holes go this is in the league with "Why would the Nazi sub travel on the surface all the way to the secret island?" (Raiders) 5) Lord returns to his own headquarters, which is where he left his son. Then he goes looking for him. Doesn't seem to be a plot hole to think his son decided to return to the headquarters looking for his dad. 6) "All over the place"? Pro: in the beginning of the movie, the news reporter doesn't know who she is. But con: Trevor finds her in the DC phone book. My take: Aside from Wonder Woman, the DCU movies are a total mess. Personally, I am glad Jenkins is not constraining Wonder Woman to the disarray of her representation in the other DCU movies. (Case in point: in 1984 Wonder Woman learned to make things invisible and to fly. Why didn't she use any of that later?)

I think Barbara still has the powers of Diana, since she made her wish before Maxwell became the Dream Stone. After he rescinded his wish, all then wished made upon him were reversed, but Barbara made her initial wish (to be like Diana) before Maxwell got his hands on it. So, basically, she made two wishes- one to be like Diana and the other to be an apex predator- and only the latter wish was rescinded. I’m guessing they’ll bring her back as an ally; kind of like Catwoman to Batman.
