You guys remind me of my two single aunties who, when I was not old enough to go to certain movies, used to narrate to me the whole plot when they came back from the movie theater.

As a kid, I grew up in an apartment not a house, so we didn’t have a chimney. I asked my dad where did Santa park his sleigh and my dad said it was in the garage 🤣🤣🤣🤣

"Violent Night" isn't perfect but to me it's an antidote to all the saccharine Hallmark Christmas movies!! I love David Harbour as Santa!! I think a sequel would have the villain going after Mrs Claus & that would then have more world building of Santa's back story of the transition from killer Viking to bad ass Santa!!

Yeah i agree. Had it been Mrs Claus being kidnapped and Santa having to go on a john wick style killing spree to get her back. It would've been awesome!

Loving Joseph in holiday mode!!🔥 Nick, I was having a conversation with my 2000 baby niece regarding computers and of all things Fish Jelly came up. I think we were both surprised we subscribe. I've been 39 for awhile so you're doing somrthing right 👍👍🙂.

Nick is so incredulous with the son stealing "all of it"?! "Why not just 100." I agree Nick. 100 million seems like a life changing amount to me too.

I love this review because the idea of Santa as being originally a killer Viking is interesting, and a lost opportunity. We may need another channel, "A Better Story WHB".

that is what happend in the movie, not a lost opportunity but they could of expanded upon it more

I think the reason his magic wasn't working at the beginning of the film is because he's too drunk, and I guess by the end he's sobered up enough for it to work again. It's not stated in the film but that's how I perceived it. 🤷♀️

I do get that some things didn't make much sense but I think (1) as with Triangle of Sadness I understood it to be operating in a heightened reality (2) I'm a sucker for Christmas theme/imagery and (3) David Harbour (sp?) was great

My willingness to accept the logical issues was also increased due to watching Poker Face or whatever it was with Russell Crowe 2 weeks ago. By comparison this was a Michael Mann movie

If I were to criticize it I'd say if Leguizamo is a Scrooge figure, he should have had some kind of redemption arc or at least a moment of realization in which he recognizes his own bitterness... Instead he just gets ripped apart in a chimney lol

Correction, Troma acquired James Glickenhaus’ North American Pictures (which Frank Hennenlotter’s Frankenhooker is from) catalog and are now distributors and now part of the Troma films library. Great movie by the way I must add!

I really liked the scene where he tells the bad guys what they wanted for Christmas as kids and they start believing who he really is. Very good action. Very campy humor. I enjoyed it. I was taken out a bit by how blasé everyone was at being held hostage and when Pam went missing 🙄 'Non-David-Harbour' people lol The blood covered mustache and beard for almost the entirety of the movie was gross. I kept hoping he would wipe it off.

Even the most cold hearted film snob will find it hard not to at least minimally enjoy this movie. I like that it references the source material but still has its own identity. It's a fun film if your into dumb fun but mindless, it's certainly not.

I loved Hansel and Gretel! What did you not like about it? It was so fun! Also, 300 million divided by 24 is over 12 million! That's still pretty life-changing. (If you guys are living large to the point 12 million isn't life-changing, you guys should adopt me!)

So, my arse decided to order this the other night. I thought (totally unaware) that this film was a slasher/ horror. Ha! Well, my husband was annoyed af. He said no thanks and we ended up watching Woman King instead. So, I finished this yesterday and it was so crunchy to me. There were funny parts, but I would not have knowingly purchased this. I’m with Joseph, the little girl was so cheesy! Gawd! Her voice was so extra babyish and she appeared to be at least eight or nine, which made little sense.

Just saw this today....you are on the MARK! The trailer was so much more believable than the movie. When so many people are killed, other than the main characters....movies lose their depth. Or is that just me? John Leguizamo seemed soooo pressed to say the lines from such a weak script. The opening bar scene was more believable than the plot...so many contradictions, as you pointed out. Great review.

definitely rewatching Copshop again. Grillo tried to ruin that movie and somehow delivered, the crazy hitman, the fat crooked cop from newman central casting, gerry b, the fine af six shooter cop, so many parts to love even if the whole doesn't quite add up. Fun and bloody, hope violent night is as well.
