I really enjoyed this vid. The Martin sounds amazing on its own. The Gretsch also sounds great on its own, but thru the pedal there was no mistaking it was a resonator guitar.

Thanks Ian, I’ve got 12’s on the Martin - 13’s with a 15 E string on the Resonator, the increased tension of the 15 makes playing with the slide so much easier.

As for tunings - Drop D on the Martin- open G DGDGBD on the resonator.

It’s a preamp but you’ll need to run it into a separate DI box.

It sounds fabulous - Jerry Douglas’ dobro has the same pickup as my Gretsch resonator in this video, he’s been using that setup live for years. It’s the best setup for plugged in dobro / resonator sounds in my opinion.

I wonder how it sounds with an electric guitar?

It sounds a bit honky with electric guitar in my experience - lots of mid range. If I were to use electric guitar with it, I’d put an EQ pedal before the Aura to scoop the mid range a bit. It’s certainly useable for live with electric guitar if needed.
