I recently purchased this little amp to go along with my new Taylor GS mini. It’s amazingly clear and makes my playing sound a little better. Most people think of acoustic amps just for amplifying sound in larger venues, but for home playing at a mid to low volume setting it just makes the guitar sound bigger and cleaner with zero distortion. The reverb and Chorus effects makes your music hit certain notes and frequencies in a subtle way that improves your sound and which you could never replicate with just the guitar.

I love the chorus on acoustic guitars. It’s the prettiest sound imo

I'm mainly an extreme metal guy but Ben's videos/ playing are the best on the Andertons channel!

DI sounds pretty good. But yeah, lots of competition. Guilty secret - at home I plug into a Boss Dual Cube LX, which is (surprisingly) great with a bit of 'verb and it's hard to worry about the lack of headroom at low volume.

Those small guitars sound do "banjo-ee" to me. Would love to hear a jumbo j-200 maybe...?? Played a j-200 through a fishman mini...sounded pretty darn full.

What exactly is the point of a small amp for home use for an acoustic guitar? I am lost here…
@_uncredited10 ай бұрын
Reverb. Tone controls. Fx. Pedals. Electro-acoustics can make some lovely sounds. He could have demoed more creatively.
@ekredel10 ай бұрын
@@_uncredited fair enough, I just feel that an electric would be more suitable for that. When I reach for my acoustic, I want to hear the acoustic sound bought it for. I understand your point as well though…

in the synth world, chorus is often used to mask a weak or thin sound. it's probably similar for acoustic guitars

No one has any review if I want to use acoustic guitar without pick up with microphone and singing? Should I use PA or acoustic amp and which one for very small group of people?
@judystone655425 күн бұрын
Great presentation, Ben. My first introduction to the Fishman loud box micro. My friend (we go back many years) and I consider ourselves long time campfire guitar players. We played our first casual campfire gig at a local store/market last summer. We had a great response with genuine support from the store owner. They want us back next summer. We’re on the hunt for a portable, lightweight acoustic amp that we can plug in one or both guitars + two mics. We’re excited but our lives pull us in different directions so practicality with cost, storage & transportation are important considerations. Any recommendations? (I already have 1 boom mic stand.)

Hi, excellent video, it looks a little small to be an 8 inch speaker. Is that what you mean by a driver? Do you sing as well?
@smmyers595610 ай бұрын
Room mic only sounded decent with heavy chorus. Di was ok throughout. Room mic to me sounded very thin. Probably the small speaker that is in it. If a bought an acoustic amp I'd find one with at minimum a 10" speaker. Better a 12" speaker.

With that size a battery or rechargeable option would be great. Your Site specs are waaaay off. "25 Inch Poly Cone Woofer 8 Inch Soft Dome Tweeter". It has a 5.25" driver

Nice. Informative. The sound is quacky, though, through the DI. Like it's trying to make that steel-string sound like a nylon-string. Don't know if that's the amp or the piezoelectrics on the guitar.

If I'm playing my acoustic at home, not sure why I would want to amplify it.
@letsridehard9 ай бұрын
It just gives the acoustic sound more body and sounds amazing. The reverb and Chorus effects gives your sound a nice subtle change to the sound that you otherwise would not get just out of the guitar. I used to think for 20 years that amplifying an acoustic guitar for home play was silly, boy was I wrong. I purchased this little amp and love how my playing sounds.

And the burning question. How much?
@slawsonscot10 ай бұрын
Around £400. Considering you can get a Katana for that with plenty of change to spare and I don’t think the tone would be vastly better on the Fishmann it feels a little pricey for me.

Shame there's no phantom power. There are better value acoustic amps at this spec, for example the Blackstar Core 30 or the Sonnet 60. For not much more my favourite the Sonnet 120.
@bertrandthomasflylover230610 ай бұрын
You must have made mistakes on your website : the 60watts loudbox mini would be cheaper than a 40w...329 vs 399??? 25 Inch Poly Cone Woofer 8 Inch Soft Dome Tweeter no way it is possible : more 6.5" main speaker and 2.5" tweeter...I think you invert conversions inch and centimeters.
@isitreallyisitreally175610 ай бұрын
£400 to amplify an acoustic at home , fish man or fish men ? Make good gear but why a head phone jack for acoustic guitar ? If it had rechargeable battery it would make nice small venue / busking amp , sadly soooo many other choices out there at the mo which are more cost effective . If you want reverb / chorus buy a Yamaha Trans acoustic , great guitars 😊👍
