I think the little Fishman held it's own here. The AER sounded like it had more detail, especially noticeable on the vocals, but the actual tone and character of the guitar I would have to say I preferred the Fishman.

Just gotta keep in mind, you are hearing tone close mic'd a few inches off the speaker. These sound and feel completely different in a room. We use both in our rehearsal space and the Loudbox is a fine amp but the AER seriously outclasses it in room tone and projection. I sing out of the Loudbox when I have to but the AER is much nicer, fuller, more natural, and has a great natural compression you get when you drive it (in my experience).

Nice demo & comparison. ( both fantastic, no doubt ) I preferred the Loudbox = the Guitar sounded more Woody-to-me. Also liked the Reverb-tails better on vocals. oNe LovE from NYC

I'm not sure why the Fishman Artist or Performer is not compared with the AER compact series?, It's much closer to the price point, volume and routing options of the AER, and much fairer comparison..however this is also a testament to the excellence of the mighty Mini!

To my ears the AER sounded better on vocals but the Fishman sounded better on guitar. The Fishman sounded more natural and lush on guitar.
