The "megaphone into a microphone" is actually a way to produce the same effect that is applied to his voice during live recording. Tom Waits does it in a live performance of "Chocolate Jesus" , vid's on youtube. Its a neat effect.

"I can't believe they dropped this the *night* of Penacony instead of the day before." Yeah they weren't kidding when they called it a countdown stream. Even I was shocked when I got the notification only a couple hours later that the servers were up (I thought the update was the next day😅). I will say I did like that though. Something new and related to watch and get hype about, and earn extra stuff while the servers were down. I also love how they did their own thing for jp and en each instead of just making them different language versions of each other. Jp was a few of the vas talking about the past year in hsr and going over things discussed in the version livestream. And en makes it a whole variety show as they sneak in some hints that the story and new world are definitely not what they seem. (Also 100% there with Mina. This host was giving hardcore Caesar Flickerman vibes)
