Thank you for this video! You’re helping people save money, especially women without a handyman in their life😂! I kept rebuying and now have four pairs of Fiskars shears. I love them when they are new and sharp and tight. Had attempted to pull one apart but wasn’t coming together properly. (I think I misassembled the parts!) Was about to buy my fifth one until I found your video! Now instead of having 4 dull pairs, I have 4 resharpened almost brand-spankin new ones! Snip snip! ✨

Fiskars are a staple in my life, damn things are worth the weight in gold. My hand pruner is the best, and yes I go after tree limbs. The vid was aewsome, the single bevel edge explanation was right on time. Thanks again. Excellent video.

Thank you!!! Got mine apart fine, but reassembly not so much. Following your video instructions they are back together again and working as good as new if not better!

Nice video! The problem with mine is that the little spring metal is sliding right by the arm it is supposed to push on to spring them back open. I can push it back into alignment with a flat screwdriver, but a few close open cycles and its slipping by again. Any ideas?

I think my problem must be a missing spring, because the handle’s not popping back. I’ve disassembled it per this really thorough video (thanks BTW) didn’t find the spring. Any ideas about how to replace?

please show a sharpener that runs across the tip. Great explanation. Thanks so much. I'm almost looking foward to sharpening my fiskars - okay. no not really, but thank you for showing how to do it correctly w the right tool.
@EagleRun23 Жыл бұрын
these are good, because you can just sharpen the bevel side amzn.to/47xniEg These are bad for "non anvil" pruners because they sharpen both sides. amzn.to/454dz6N BUT they would work for a pocket knife or kitchen knife with a bevel on each side.

Great video,mine has allenhead screws on both sides. On the locking mechanism, mine has a brass spacer and I'm having a hard time getting in,
@upload235211 ай бұрын
My original set had the allenhead screws, until 1 dropped out and got lost (handyman was using it). No idea if it got cut in half or loosened up and dropped out. Asked Fiskars for a new screw under warranty - they sent a new pruner, also with allenheads. I wanted to see the original screw so I could get a close replacement from ACE, so tried to take the new pruner apart. Allenhead was turning with the 1/8" (USA) allen wrench that fit perfectly, so I tried another 1/8" on the other side - but that one takes a 3mm allen (?) for a perfect fit. Tried to loosen the screw with the allen wrenches and . . . ended up stripping out the USA side's screw head - the screw/cap/whatever would not let go - don't know if they used locktite, or if it's not a removable screw/nut thing. If you got in - let me know how!

According to Fiskars, their tools have a special coating that makes it possible to clean the tool with soap and water and to use WD-40 on the moving parts. However, they DO say that the tool must be dried well after washing in water to prevent rust, so maybe a little oil is the right thing to do anyway. Also, your video is misleading, because it gives the impression that the spacer comes out with the bolt instead of the two Phillips screws. When it became obvious to me that the spacer DOESN'T remount on the bolt, I had another look at your video and saw where it actually goes.

Ok great. I may have missed that detail. Thanks for the comment!

1. list supplies needed first: degreaser, soapy water, whetstone, wire wheel (optional)Allan key, Phillips, cloth/rag, 10 mm whatever, small box to contain sm. pieces, good lighting; 24x36 workspace 2. speak without commentary 'til the end to save viewer's time. 3. Consider speeding up rate of speech and video.

Unnecessary to go past 1000 on a garden tool unless you are an over achiever, haha, if it has damage you may need lower to repair and move a lot of metal.
