Efficiency wise at 338 arc every time, it would have been 338 specter but they just could not get that round to market. Also 8.6 blackout comes with some serious downsides that you are not talking about here. Projectile choices/twist rate options/on shelf availability ect

No one wants an AR lever action… the only reason this rifle is viable is so Americans can skirt around California’s stupid rifle attachment laws. Those laws are so dumb they made it illegal to use a VFG (if your rifle has a pistol grip). However, a triangle front grip is still legal.

I was always confused on how bump fire is even practical. It more so just seems like a way for the people to say fuck you to the ATF (im all for it lol). Ive never used one but how do you stop it from firing ? Just pull it off your shoulder? That thing looks like as soon as it gets going its not going to stop till the mags empty lol

Depends, can 338 arc reliably and ethically take a deer or pig out to 200yrds. From what I've seen so far, 8.6 can with subs. Not enough info on the arc to see that it can do much more than 300 blk can.

Hornady marketing wants you to compare 338 arc to 8.6 and come to the conclusion that the arc cartridge is somehow superior because it fits in an ar15. The problem with that is .300blk exist which .338 arc has no practical advantages over due to 15 years of market penetration and development on the .300blk. While the arc might be fun for tinkerers and provide material for content creators it’s simply not the Everymans alternative to 8.6 they’re selling it as.

It's not a question of "A vs B". They're not even comparable. If you're hunting cape buffalo... go with Blackout. If your sub-sonic hunting interests are domestic (virtually anything in North America)... save a few grand, keep your AR15, and go with ARC.
