FISKER OCEAN A Competitive EV? A Detailer's Perspective & Walkaround

The Fisker is such a new car that they are competing against bigger companies like Tesla, Lucid, Ford, etc etc, and I hope Fisker takes off! It's a INCREDIBLY UNIQUE car and deserves much more attention! It's also one of the only EVs I have seen with a opening sun roof! I wish the Lucid had one of those!

I do roadside assistance and had to jumpstart this car today. Opening the hood on this engineer award winning vehicle requires you to gently pry on the precious paint job (customers love watching you do this) to remove a panel that then gives you access to two bolts that hold the hood down. They also left huge gaps for the bolts to fall down into. It could be so simple. I love new designs, but only if it’s an improvement. If something works, why make it worse?

Appreciate how detailed your perspective was. Now considering getting a gloss finish with matte film if I get a new car. Wish your shop was closer to service my car. Do you recommend getting ceramic coating over protective film? I met an Fisker owner who thought it was just costly upselling. Also what was your recommendation on maintaining the "cheap" soft rubber trim piece? Love to see the finished work on this car also! Thanks!

Guys, answer to the calipers being that powder blue color.......look at the shade of blue on the roof. They were intended to match. Hood is higher on one side if someone had the hood bolts off and later resecured the bolts before checking the panel alignment.

The start of this is incorrect, they didn't "take some time off", the first Fisker company is dead and the rights to the Karma were sold to Karma automotive, this Fisker is a legally distinct new company though headed by the same guy of the name

Ah, nothing like being locked out of opening YOUR OWN HOOD. Don't give me that, "it's too dangerous under there" bs. As if combustion engine compartments aren't dangerous. At least Benz EV's (still garbage) have the latch in the same spot as always, just w/ a hidden flap secured w/ a few torx screws. THE INDUSTRY IS TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING. Piggy backing on another commenter saying it’s Risky. It’s a very risky buying this car for sure. 1.1 billion in debt with a market cap of 466 million. Reallly? Yes no service center and software is far behind. UI is buggy. Yes it’s a beautiful design with cool feature but customers don’t realize that when it breaks they will be suck with a useless car. Good luck to all the fisker owner and I’m hoping I’m wrong about the company.

Absolutely wrong. Mobile service within 24 hours. Tesla did the same for years.

@@rcpmac they use 3rd party service shops and mobile service. Plus you can only charge at 32amps. For this price, it needs to stay current and charge at 48amps.

EV's never fail to remind us that the Internal Combustion Engine is the ONLY way to go. The Fisker is an expensive golf cart - that probably won't last 18 holes or 2 rounds.

Vety , very risky buying this new vehicle, from fisker, that has no service centers andchas failed before. I would wait a year or two, once nacs charge ports are installed, otherwise just get a tesla.

Let's buy an ugly no class or style vehicle which is badly built and parts fall off ( my friend had one for 3 days and the bumber fell off he handed it back and bought a polestar another fantastic vehicle) now back to the boring Tesla what have I missed out eh oh it's like an arsehole EVERYBODY has one!! Fisker is better looking better built and has plenty class to turn heads ! Tesla well they bring out the ugliest fucking truck you have ever seen which will be problematic. What else oh Tesla's don't do nearly the range they say they do.

@@jonishmathew8980yeah, I have had great service from the mobile techs so far coming to my house. Just like Tesla did after they started selling their cars they rolled out their service centers, Fisker may end up doing the same thing. Fisker is currently looking at using Firestone/ Bridgestone as their service centers. Not sure if that is up and running yet.
