These videos are super helpful. It's good to see an enthusiastically small and hopefully growing community there to help Fisker owners and potential buyers. I'm a brand new Ocean One owner and still very much learning it. The vehicle was delivered just days ago and hasn't seen any additional miles (due to not receiving a bill of sale yet to be able to register it in my state). As for the update, the first night I was in it I was playing with the screen searching for updates but nothing happened. The following morning I was in the vehicle, which was parked inside the garage when the update automatically began. The screen showed that it detected 4G service in a very rural area where my iPhone barely works and typically shows one bar of LTE at most. I was aware that the doors had to be locked and you shouldn't be inside, although I don't remember if it was while this happened. I eventually stood outside away while it completed the process. But I believe the power was on while it went through the update. Hope this is helpful to others. Side note: Bill, I think we met at the NASDAQ opening bell. And have fun in your Ocean One.

I was hooked by Bill because I too have an energy efficient home and that was my passion for the last 12 years. I will be getting my Ocean Extreme (scheduled for 11/29/23) in about a month. I even watched part of this video on AirPlay on a big screen. So much fun. Now I have to schedule my wife to watch this as we will co-pilot this car together. As a retired architect and with a degree in engineering as well, what could be more exciting than a Fisker Ocean Extremene in Red Planet? Thanks Guys!!

I think you're all correct, it's going to take time and nobody remembers (okay EV nerds will...lol) when early EVs (Tesla included) had quirks to their vehicles, software bugs, etc. If Fisker listens to its customers and implements timely fixes and enhancements, they'll be okay. Not just new car companies having quirks/bugs... I rented a Tesla Model 3 in early 2023 for a trip that was too long for my old EV, and had an issue where the steering went really stiff without me changing the setting (fixed itself after I stopped and restarted the car), and a bit later the navigation messed up where the map showing all the roads disappeared but the line showing the route along those roads was still present. Neither of those were safety issues, but pretty annoying/surprising from what I consider an established brand.

Same happened to me. When I realized the slipstream wheels were just a hubcap I requested to change them to the airglider rims. They arent able to do that, so instead they offered me a canceled Ocean One with the same configuration I requested and the rims I wanted. Delivery scheduled for tomorrow here in Maryland.

If Fisker could release the Pear before GM drops the Ultium Bolt EV refresh, they'll potentially steal a bunch of Bolt costumers, and also capture new customers with its versatility - 6 seat configuration and temperature controlled frunk etc. Fisker will succeed. Not too sure about Lucid.

Excellent Video, very informative - Ocean is so European - many of the features are absolutely standard on European cars. I am sure Magna must have shown the designers what they put in their other customers cars. Although I am sure they would not confirm they did. What I like is that they have taken some good points from Tesla and integrated with existing tech into a new EV Brand, plus given it some really nice design touches. A bit like someone’s dream car.

Fantastic video as always Adam! One thing that I hadn't ever considered is what Bill mentioned @1:16:25 - that the video apps aren't accessible outside of Hollywood Mode. I'd always assumed they would still work in my Ultra, just in a smaller window on the portrait mode screen. That's concerning, and hopefully something Fisker will consider changing. I know they don't want people watching movies while driving, but that should be easy enough to manage in other ways.

Got to see a the cars in person for the first time this weekend. Got to say they seems really well built. Really liked it. Looks better in person. Appreciate the door handles. The steering wheel felt a bit odd and some bugs. Overall it have great hardware but lacking in software.

I saw your front screen blink. That's funny. My son was asking what I thought about the EV6 reliability today. It told him it has tops for an EV. But, I told that if the screen or two go out, you are screwed! I lot depends on the front screen! Going too digital is a bit of concern. Hopefully these cars can still operate to safety when the computer and screens go haywire!

I appreciate your feedback. The drive systems and UI are obviously connected, but also function separately. I’ve lost the display in my Tesla on a drive before. It reset while I was driving and didn’t affect the drivetrain, pedals, or steering. If any of the dozens of oxygen, knock, or fuel sensors have any type of fault in an ICE car, the check engine light turns on. I’ve got a check engine, 4wd failure, and a traction control failure right now because of a $20 oxygen sensor failure. Gotta go back to OBD-1 (1995) or earlier to escape the computers. Can't reverse without seatbelt engaged: I do sometimes use reverse without the seatbelt when navigating 2-tracks for work. Makes it much easier to see how close you are to the brush & trees. No doubt I could get out, buckle the seatbelt, get back in then reverse the process when I need to drive the car, but that seems a bit fiddly. ... No one-pedal driving is a big deal for me. Hopefully they add it OTA.

Nice video content and kudos to the videographer. It appears that you drive in a forward position and not with your shoulders back in the seat. Was that due to the design of the setback or just your own personal driving preference? I'm 6'6" and keep my shoulders back and head resting on headrest.

Great question: I’ll address the differences between this drive and the test drive in an upcoming video. In short, I test drove a test drive unit, I gently drove Bill’s personal vehicle. I've seen videos of trucks smoking EV drivers, and it almost happened to me in a small town, but unfortunately for him, I launched my car trying to get around him to catch the on ramp. Great Question: Some shady tire shops (and dealerships) like to purposely inflate tires to very high pressures so the tire tread wears unevenly, causing tires to need replacement more often. Always check your pressures. Thanks for your comment, Cheers!

Can you mute the “voice in the dash” when using navigation so you just get the visual instructions without the audible too? I find the voice really annoying, especially when I have passengers in the car with me so just like the visualisation on the HUD or driver’s info screen in both my current cars.

Great Question: in the bottom right corner there is a volume icon that will mute or unmute the volume. There’s also a settings icon at the top right of the navigation what will allow you to customize it further. Check out this video for a complete dive into the infotainment. I have two orders, was thinking to move on one. They sent me an email to make a $750 payment to move forward. I hit the link and it doesn't work. I tried for a week. I give up with this company. They don't know what they are doing. I still have not heard who is going to do repairs. I have little trust in Fisker. He's makes too many promises that have not come to fruition. I don't like that they pushed out a car that is not fully functional. It seems to me that they badly need cash flow. Car looks decent though. Kind of pricey for the One and they don't even have one pedal.

You can only drive a super good Y because people like me drove an S in 2016... with many more issues than this Fisker seems to be having. As a EV community we should favour experiments, not be after the perfect thing. Without experimenting and giving a premium to these startups, we would all still drive BMWs burning gas.
