Any mechanic could do this, but it seems access to the FasT tool is critical for most repairs to the Ocean.
@markhartman147516 күн бұрын
I think if you minimize the coolant loss during the swap and keep an eye on the tank to make sure it’s full, the system would self bleed as you drive the car. Or you could make a pigtail and figure out where the positive and negative is and run the pump manually.

Thanks Matt. Great info. Let’s hope the bankruptcy judge forces Fisker to complete all the pump replacements.
@Coolcatgrooves13 күн бұрын
What should really happen is the judge should put all buybacks in the bankruptcy. This car is going to continue to bring problems for years to come. Mark my words. I said it a year ago, but the fanboy Facebook forums, which are moderated like HOA's, refuse to listen and even post my videos.

thanx matt....had this problem in january.had my sport for just 2 weeks.was on the way to work on a swiss highway on sunday to monday night 0:30 am.all of a sudden no more heat from the vents and high voltage management failure message.no more power.just crawling.i did all the sleeps there are(on the emergency lane,minus 5 degrees C,pitch black night)....no reaction.after a new start power was back for a few seconds so i could get to the next offramp....after work started the ocean and all was fine again.a few hours later it happened again and fisker had to tow it in(600km)they said the waterpump was the problem....a few month later i was told that the supplier for the pump had to come up for the repairs.about 10 tsd euros....the whole lot.........

I have had issues with «limp mode» several times this winter with my FOO which I took title to in Norway mid September (#2645) 2023. Somehow the limp mode “fixed itself” several times. Returning from a 10 day holiday it happened again in a highway tunnel, fortunately with little traffic, a scary experience indeed. Fisker service agreed to check and fix my vehicle two days later. I was due to book a rescue truck. However, after a day I could drive the car normally the 50 km down to the Fisker repair shop where they diagnosed that my “heat pump” was the culprit - a problem not unknown to Fisker - apparently a leak within the part causing the problem. They told me that vehicles produced early 2024 ha new heat pumps where the deficiency was resolved. They had no such new heat pumps available but took one from an older donor vehicle. From this replacement I have not had the limp mode reoccurring, however I understand this may happen again …
@MTNRanger16 күн бұрын
Thanks for the information. I was not aware of heat pump issues or the redesign.

I am in the UK, the risk Johnson run if there is an accident and perhaps even a death attributable to this fault, which is now known, it could be disastrous for them both financially and perhaps criminally. Never mind the reputational damage!
@DaveDarin16 күн бұрын
Your videos are amazing. This was an excellent video on the issue, the part, the removal and install of the replacement. But I do share your concerns as the other remaining pumps seem like they could also be candidates for issues. I am a DIY guy but I have no lift and all EVs are super heavy so there is no way I would get under an Ocean for this work. I knew someone who bought a house in my neighborhood. 3 months later he was found dead under his collapsed car. I have done work under cars but always with multiple jack stands and even then I limit my time under. I have many many doubts that Fisker will be doing this as they have how many current employees, 130ish? And that was before the bankruptcy.I am not for bigger Government but there needs to be more regulation and verification of start ups in the future. Supposedly there was to be warranty money set aside per each Ocean sale and there was supposed to be a supply of replacement parts. Seems none of that was regulated and verified. This needs oversight. Always great videos from you. Cheers.
@MTNRanger16 күн бұрын
Even under jack stands, I don't think there is enough clearance. To get a reputable lift, you will have to spend thousands of dollars. Not something I plan to have anytime soon. With these instructions, any competent auto repair shop should be able to replace the pump. The key is getting the replacements.

Document in your video around 4:40 shows The starting and ending affected VIN Range - you didn't mention it. Might answer some questions for a few people if they're truly affected by this or not. Thanks for the info.
@MTNRanger16 күн бұрын
The VIN range covers all of the Oceans produced. It's probably just a requirement to show them. No Ocean has been manufactured after the 2/22/24 date of the fixed water pumps.
@arturoreyes840616 күн бұрын
I am an aviation avionics tech for many years and I own a fisker as well. I had a similar issue on an antenna circuit board that was exposed to the elements. The ( legal) fix was a simple coating of silicone directly on the transistors on the board. This would keep the moisture / water from making direct contact with the components on the board. I wonder if this could be possible solution to those who don't have access to a service shop to replace the pump.
@MTNRanger15 күн бұрын
It's definitely something to consider if the replacements don't arrive. As I mentioned in the video, I'll be taking a closer look at the four pumps I purchased (1000 miles on them).

Hi Matt... Thanks you for this needed FYI: I received my 2024 Ultra on December 30, 2024 and so far I have been blessed with no issues. Thanks God, but I am planning a out of state trip soon and I pray that I can return without any issues or I will have a very long Car Towing bill. I'm really not sure if I should drive it. What are your thoughts since there are very few cars that have been effected?
@MTNRanger14 күн бұрын
I have taken mine on multiple long distance trips since October. Personally, I'm driving my car normally. What version software do you have? I'm more concerned with a OTA update going wrong and messing up the 12V battery at this point.

How does water get into the enclosed area where the circuit board is?
