Personally my choice is the Ocean. Henrik Fisker has been in the automotive engineering and design arena for many years, working for BMW and Tesla and has additionally aligned himself with CATL, a well respected Chinese battery supplier, and when your talking EV, the battery is obviously the heart and soul of the vehicle.

I have a 2012 Chevy Volt, it has only been in the shop twice, once to get the radio replaced. post warranty. This year it went in for a software upgrade. Great car, looking for more EV mileage. I have a Fisker reserved, hopefully, they will have it figured out like the Chevy Volt.

The Volt was a good looking car- albeit seriously range limited. The Bolt however is a butt ugly grocery getter that should just fade away..

honestly IF I can afford any of these. Fisker is my choice the Ultra Trim is the best deal in my opinion . I don't like VW . and the cost of repair and Relibitly follow VW makes it non masses Vehicle . so Fisker is a winner assuming their numbers not that far off from reality . thank you for that awesome breakdown man .

I understand Fisker is using Magna in Canada to build this car. Magna has experience with making parts for many major car companies so I am curious how this car will be. Has Fisker solved the issue of servicing that Tesla is failing at? This is where VW has the upper hand with a network of dealers.

Not Canada but Magna Steyr in Austria.

Yeah VW solved it alright. $135/hour and a CEL warning for just about everything.

Tesla model Y remains the best value in this market segment and that's what I plan to buy this summer in USA. _( charging network + service + efficiency + range + AP + FSD +, +, +, +.......)_
@raymondwong25212 жыл бұрын
Tesla service sucks. That was the reason I sold my Model 3 Performance in January this year. Range for Tesla EVs are known to be over-stated by Tesla. Look at how South Korean Government is penalizing Tesla for misleading South Korean Tesla buyers with inflated mileage per charge. Charging network? look around to see more and more Tesla owners are charging their Teslas in other charging networks such as ChargePoint and BlingCharging. Why? Too many Tesla are competing for limited chargers at their Supercharging stations already, more and more Tesla owners are forced to charge at other charging networks. FSD? Tesla bills and charges you full price, but has yet to release all the features that the company has promised to give its Tesla EV owners. Then, why let the company charge the full price now for just less than half of the features and safety monitoring system? What if the so-called FSD won't be released until 10 years later? Also, why is it the Model Y has the "best value" when you can't even have tax credits by Federal Government and tax rebates by your State government? (counter points +, +, +, + .......)

I would get a fisker but it’s so damn slow. My model 3 long range does 0-60 in 3.6 seconds with the speed boost.
@raymondwong25212 жыл бұрын
The Fisker can go from 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds also, just not the base model. Also Tesla EVs are known for over-exaggerated acceleration time and mileage per full charges. As such, South Korean government is giving Tesla penalty for misleading South Korean buyers of Tesla EVs.
@raymondwong25212 жыл бұрын
Also, your model 3 long range does 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds, not 3.6 seconds. My Performance Model 3 last year before I sold it did 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds, not the claimed 3.2 seconds.
@raymondwong25212 жыл бұрын
You can talk speed boost, but the same can also be true for future Fisker EVs with their own speed boost. Tesla EVs did not have any speed boost for their first year of production either.
@Light23K2 жыл бұрын
@@raymondwong2521 that’s weird because I bought a speed boost and 0-60 varies but I’m sure I hit it in 3.6 seconds a few time.

I wouldn't buy a car from any newcomer, whether it Fisker, or Lucid, or Rivian. They all have unknown quality and reliability, nor any dealerships or service centers. Even Tesla still can't manufacture good quality reliable cars after doing it for a decade. Taking into account how much can go wrong with a new car design from an inexperienced company, you are asking for trouble purchasing any of those cars. Not even mentioning that those companies have a high probability going out of business.
@robertemery5272 жыл бұрын
Yes, Tesla has had growing pains being new to the many facets of manufacturing. Fisker will be avoiding this by using one of the world's high end builders, Magna Steyr of Austria.
@lvthud2 жыл бұрын
@@robertemery527 I agree with what you say, however, all cars break, it's the nature of mechanical things, sure EV's break less due to less parts, but it's going to happen. I would love to order a Fisker, but, nobody (including Fisker) can say how they will fix anything major. Sure they will have mobile tech that can sort out the small stuff in your driveway, but not something like a motor change which can and will happen to someone.
@MTNRanger2 жыл бұрын
@@robertemery527 Magna Steyr also manufacturers the Jaguar I-pace which has pretty good build quality. Fisker's 6 year 60k mile warranty is pretty impressive.

For the reasons that you stated, I'm going to lease for $379 per month including maintenance. With 30,000 miles allowance per year, I won't be the one taking the depreciating hit. The best part is you can walk away from the lease at anytime! Basically, little to no risk. Actually, this car is going to save me a ton of money!
