I'm cracking up over Brian not being able to comprehend we just say a move hits grounded 😅
@killerkrok552 ай бұрын
Tekken lingo Hits grounded - a move hits grounded opponents. Not to be compared to an "otg", as in tekken the opponent can stay down indefinitely. Oki/okizeme - similar concept conpared to other games but in tekken because a player can choose to stay downed its best to use a move that hits grounded and has a bit of tracking (ideally). Tech trap - the third option in the grounded state offense. These are moves that will hit the opponent when they are quick rolling to the side or getting up from an unfavorable position such as face down fee towards and being placed in an unfavorable situation such as standing but backturned essentially allowing a free hit. Tracking - refers to a moves ability to hit a sidestepping opponent. *Note* : not to be confused with homing. Frame trap - an instance where a move is blocked leaving the defender at a disadvataged state where retaliation is not recomended. Alternatively it's better to sidestep/backdash/duck/or stand block. Turtle - a semi aquatic creature. Jk, a player who play in a conservative manner. Lots of pokes and low commital moves that dont usually leave you at a major disadvatage. Flow chart - a sequence of move used in succession to counter an opponent attempting to take their turn on offense. Usually commonly seen in gimmicky characters but can be done by anyone. Theres way more stuff but ill stop here. Feel free to ad on to this if you like.
@B1gLupuАй бұрын
Shorthand for mids that hit grounded is "Pedal" because Steel Pedal hits grounded.
@Evil-Fry16 күн бұрын
I have a few nitpicks. First "otg" means on the ground, so every move that hits on the ground is otg, if you can stay or not is irrelevant. Tech trap, is technical trap, basically every trap using a specific aspect of the game to put you on a bad situation Everyone keeps spamming that tekken is the hardest game but tekken players are the only ones freestyiling well known therms in fgs
@B1gLupu16 күн бұрын
@@Evil-Fry every fightinggame adjusts terms to their game, because all games are unique and things are often shorthnded after moves and / or players, like "aris-frames", "pedal", "the nobi", not to mention local lingo.
@killerkrok5513 күн бұрын
@@B1gLupu thats true. But i personally feel pedal or steel pedal mainly refer to the move that pancake flips thats why, atleast in the circles im familiar with, most of us use the term hits grounded.
@killerkrok5513 күн бұрын
@@Evil-Fry i agree to an extent. Tekken players do have their own way of using fg terms, but that doesnt change what they mean for everyone else. It just can or will have a possible slightly different meaning in tekken because of how different the game is compared to every other fg, save VF and SC. So terms have to be expanded and change in order to be clear to people who are spectating and/or are new or unfamiliar with it.

@aqueelkadri83712 ай бұрын
Well some people just invest time in learning different skills at different points of their Tekken journey. The first thing I learned as soon as I bought Tekken 8 was KBD so I was KBDing (very poorly) as soon as I hopped into ranked at beginner. By the time I was in green/orange my KBD got pretty smooth just by repetition. That guy could be a stream sniper but I think its more likely that he just wanted to learn KBD and electrics before learning anything else. If you notice his combos were really bad so most likely he was just a regular orange rank who's biggest strengths are being able to KBD and electric. But don't let this stop you from enjoying your tortillas man.

As far as I'm aware, the game you learn first is the one you perceive as easiest. Trying to play tekken to me would be like learning another language, so I see it as impossibly harder than picking up any sf, but for someone else, it might be the other way around.
