After considerable thought, I have to go with "Master Po" (as portrayed by Keye Luke). (a.k.a. "the blind Shaolin Monk from the 1970s TV Series "Kung Fu".") Keye Luke got to portray a dignified and yet human Asian character at a time when that was VERY rare in television, and hell, it's hard to not to like Po: he's blind, yet he's a brilliant martial artist. He's a monk, yet he's almost always smiling. (Come to think of it, that may have been the VERY first place I learned anything about Buddhism. 🤔🙂) He has some serious style and some fun attitude problems and a strong sense of personal dignity: refusing to compromise his sense of appropriate behavior even in the presence of the nephew of The Emperor of China (even at the cost of his own life). 👍 [Now, IRL, I could go on about the rare times I met the late Grandmaster Chung Eun Kim of Bettendorf, Iowa and how he would both joke about and praise the sword fighting in "Episode 1" (He was perhaps the 2nd best in the world at Kendo / Kumdo), and in _Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles_ LOL ... But, this is long enough. And I'm crying at just the thought. 🙂😭❤❤]

Katja, this was a beautiful theme, and I am so pleased that you chose to make a tribute to perhaps the greatest martial artist of all time, Bruce Lee. When I was younger I thought that the martial arts were a bit silly, but as I have learned more about the incredible discipline required to reach the upper echelons of mastery for this skill, the more appreciation I have gained for it. Like so many things, there is a clear distinction between an amateur hobbyist and one who dedicates their life to the craft, and no one was more dedicated than Bruce Lee. I am grateful that he helped introduce the Western world to this unique artform, and it is truly a tragedy that his life was cut so short. It's still amazing watching the incredible feats he was able to perform not only in movies, but also his demonstrations and instruction to others. I am glad that his legacy lives on in his films and now also through your amazing musical commemoration. Speaking of which, I loved the gentle style that you used when playing this particular piece. There is a sense of serenity and calm that you share here which I believe Mr. Lee would truly appreciate. Many of your songs have much more energy and power in them, that the gentleness that you exhibit here is relaxing and contemplative, allowing us to reflect on the life of Mr. Lee and his contributions to the world. You played beautifully, as always, and I am touched whenever I am able to experience this more mild and delicate side to you. Thank you for using your talents, abilities, and efforts to carry the torch for so many wonderful musical themes that are no longer recognized in today's pop culture zeitgeist. You are truly a treasure. I can't wait to hear the next fighting theme you have planned for us this month.
