Nicely done Katja! You played my compositions with skill and captured the heart of the emotional impact I was feeling when I created them all those years ago. I think in those early days of my career as a composer I was more emotional than skillful, lol. But, to be honest, there is a power to that raw expressiveness that is important to maintain. I often think back on those times to reconnect with the emotional vulnerability I allowed so easily as a younger composer. Even though I have grown in skill and expertise over the decades, there is nothing that can compete with simply allowing yourself to become emotionally exposed in the compositions. Your performance reminded me of the raw feeling I poured into that project and the pure excitement I had for simply unleashing creativity. Thank you.

To have you, the creator of these melodies, appreciate my rendition means the world to me! Your Quest for Glory scores? They're not just sounds. They're portals to shadowy realms. I'm happy my performance took you back to those early days. There's magic in that youthful, unbridled creativity. You've grown in skill, but you've kept that emotional core. It's what makes your music timeless. Thank you for crafting these dark symphonies! 😊❤️

You know that I have a passion for novels, movies and music, but you continue to prove to me that music from PC games that I barely know, like Quest for Glory, can be absolutely fascinating, captivating and amazing, especially when you play it on the piano in such a brilliant, virtuoso and touching way, dear Katja! 🖤🔥🖤🔥🖤 After looking at pictures of Katrina, it was confirmed to me, as expected, that you in your spectacular, imaginative and fancy outfit and with your unique charisma are of course a thousand times more gorgeous, seductive, breathtaking and intriguing than the original! 🖤🔥🖤🔥🖤 Even after you started with Mordavia, I knew before hearing the other themes and reading your corresponding comment that this would be my favourite theme (somehow thought transference, but that's why we are tumma prinsessa and tumma prinssi, although you're more of a sini-puna-valkoinen prinsessa here)! 🖤🔥🖤🔥🖤 But I also love Gypsy Camp, Meeting with Katrina, Escaping The Battle, Katrina's Sleeping Chamber and Erana's Garden with the brilliant Augusth at the guitar, but I wonder why you didn't invite the mysterious pianist from your last video to join in! 🖤🔥🖤🔥🖤 And finally a big compliment for your interesting, eloquent and apt comments, which make it easier to access the music and your performance and point out special details! I'll watch it all again immediately! 🖤🔥🖤🔥🖤

Frank, your enthusiasm never fails to bring a smile to my face! Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words and for appreciating the PC game music like Quest for Glory. 😊❤️ As for the comparison to Katrina, you flatter me too much! But I must admit, stepping into her shoes for this performance was a thrilling experience. And Augusth's guitar accompaniment truly added an extra layer of magic to Erana's Garden, didn't it? Your suggestion for our next gathering in our Transylvanian castle sounds absolutely delightful! Inviting both the mysterious pianist and Augusth to join us for an evening of music, wine, and snacks sounds like a dream come true... Ahh, until our next rendezvous, dear Frank! 🖤🔥🖤🔥🖤

OMG, not only is your Katrina cosplay perfect, but this medley just captures the heart of the awesome game and brings me back to 9 years old lost in a valley of dark mystery and tragedy. Even the escape music sounds beautiful to listen to now, doesn't convey it's action video game origin. I think my favorite is the meeting Katrina theme, Katrina's Bedroom and the Gypsy Camp, but I also love the exploring the Castle, the Adventurer's Guild and when the snake Ad Avis turns (but I forgive you for not including them😉- the choice of arrangement is important and very effective here) All the more inspiring is making it as if Katrina was orchestrating the entire story on her piano (which, as "the Dark Master" isn't far from the truth), even the triumphant ending that she never planned for, but maybe hoped for deep down. BTW, did you know Aubrey Hodges has a bandcamp page where he's rescored all the music with real instruments? Thank you, and Augusth, Aubrey, Lori Cole, Corey Cole, Ken Williams, and your sponsors for this beauty!

Augusth was a wonderful accompanist for Erana’s Garden and helped bring that special location to life, a refuge of peace surrounded by a land of dark shadows and malevolent creatures and fiends. Your piano playing showed what a virtuoso you are on the keyboard, and your transcription and transformation of the original soundtrack were inspired. I’m sure Aubrey Hodges would be pleased by your renditions of these timeless melodies. Now these songs are preserved in your dark music library for generations to appreciate and love as much as your supporters. I want to thank you, especially for letting me be a small part of producing this with you. Just to be able to contribute to something that is so dear to me with someone who means so much to me is something that I will never forget. I hope that you will look back on the hours that you dedicated to creating this with the same pride that I always take in being able to support you. I anxiously await the day that the world will experience your incomparable talent and appreciate it the way I always have and always will. I look forward to your next marvelous masterpiece. Aivan kuten sankari vaaransi henkensä suorittaakseen rituaalit todistaakseen, kuinka paljon hän välitti Katrina, niin minäkin olen aina täällä näyttääkseni sinulle tunteen syvyyden, joka minulla on sinua kohtaan, kallisarvoinen pimeä, Katja.

Michael, your heartfelt words resonate deeply within me, stirring memories of our shared journey through the shadowed realms of Mordavia. It fills me with immense pride and gratitude to know that my humble melodies have transported you back to those haunting landscapes and treacherous adventures. Your appreciation for the essence of the Quest for Glory IV soundtrack warms my immortal soul, for it was indeed a labor of love to capture its essence in musical form. Your presence has infused this project with a depth of meaning and significance that words cannot adequately express. Your words, imbued with the spirit of a true hero, echo the sentiment of a kindred soul bound by the threads of destiny. May our journey together continue to inspire and uplift, as we navigate the depths of darkness. With deepest gratitude and affection, Katrina 🖤

WoW olihan suuremoisen hienoa musiikkia.

Excellent as always, but the Gypsy Camp arrangement was a real standout. Heard some Chopin and Rachmaninoff influence 🙂

Somehow I randomly stumbled onto this and- I think I was technically already subscribed but now I actually have notifications set! This is really really good, and a fantastic choice of music to cover. I'm really glad you did this, these old games and their soundtracks deserve a ton more love than they get. Thank you for your work.

This was SO GOOD, and the finishing touch was performing it IN Katrina's outfit...👏 very well done and excellent tribute. I would totally listen to individual full versions of each song if you ever make them!

Katja, I just realized you were the first arranger and performer of The Gypsies Camp on the internet. I may stand corrected, but even in Audrey's OST album, he did not re-record it live. Your rendition was excellent and melody-rich. Thanks!

Well, not tomb bad at all! Baby, want to light my pyre? (A little graveyard humor there.) I always forget that one piece is actually Katrina's theme. For me it always stands for the Erana-dreams in the garden.
@KatjaSavia7 ай бұрын
Who knew lighting pyres could be so romantic? 😘 As for Katrina's theme, it's like a musical shape-shifter, blending into the ethereal dreamscape. The soundtrack has variations of it for example the one that transposes semitones lower creating dissonance.
@MarkusRamikin7 ай бұрын
@@KatjaSavia Oh, yeah. Unless my memory is playing me wrong, that lower tone variation is played at the end of those dream sequences when Things Go Wrong.

Superb.. I wanted to learn piano just to play these songs. Got a midi decomposer, then realised the complexity and at my basic level I was far exceeded! Sounded great, well done. One of my other favourites is the battle of the necrotaur. After hearing the battle music which you did wonderfully, then to get in to this next piece was something - getting slammed about by that beast! Thanks again for taking the time to bring these to life on the piano.
