As a DM who's hosted and broadcasted the entire AP, the best and worst part of this module was that they didn't sell the villain hard enough, nor did they bother to tell the backstory for Hao Jin, as the information from the society year play and trial she was found guilty at really helped to sell Syndara. The lack of explanations helps newer players, but they miss out on so much of who Hao Jin is and why this tournament is so important, as is the villain who was imprisoned for so long and waited for his revenge. The variety of teams is nice, but forgettable.

That's good to know. I felt mostly the same way reading through it, but wasn't aware of a Trial during Society play or how that connects to Syndara. I'll check it out!

I wish there was a premium Foundry VTT module for this adventure path! I have the deluxe PDF and would love to run it, but PDF to Foundry only works with the old 3 book set 😢

Yeah, All the APs that were out before they started the premium Foundry modules are likely never going to get made into modules themselves. It sucks because I would LOVE to run them for my table and yeah I can do the PDF2Foundry import but even if you do it just isn't nearly as premium and takes significant work to get near that level of polish. The official response from Foundry when I talked to them was they are busy with Kingmaker but maybe after that... if Paizo contracts them to do it... maybe.

@@JustinBania It's so silly! They are leaving money on the table by not making VTT modules. They should just hire someone extra to make it -- it would pay for itself 100 times over!

the only AP i can see having an easy time connecting is Abomination Vault into Stolen fate because Stolen fate is literally right next door.

How (if) i'll be able to balance the start of this campaign after the party of four finishes the Abomination Vaults? We're not using XP leveling, so we can stay the same level for longer, but i'm afraid they will be too overpowered for the first chapter

i feel like the players deserve to feel a bit strong they got all the cool items from Abomination vaults for a reason they should feel like important people.

you can indeed! however if you want one that starts in the same region as abomination vaults you can also look at stolen fate.
