This DVD has been developed as a stand alone, 30 minute seated exercise programme led by a trained instructor as part of the previously run Age UK fit for life programme. The aim of the DVD is to improve physical mobility and well-being, enabling older people to love a more active and independent life.
The exercise programme will help improve balance and coordination, stretch and strengthen muscles making everyday activities easier to undertake. It is clear to follow for individuals exercising on their own, with a carer or as part of a group.
It is advisable to watch this DVD from the very start before you take part. Each time you exercise, ensure you listen to the important safety guidance at the beginning of the exercise programme. Remember, start at your own level, as you gain in confidence and are able to perform the exercises with ease. You can gradually increase the number of times you repeat each exercise.
