*Disney MagicBand Teardown* adafru.it/b95786 Mike writes in to tell us about this Disney MagicBand teardown he spotted: _I’ve been geeking out on the details of the rollout of Disney’s massive $1.5BN MyMagic+ “next gen” guest experience. The center piece is the new RFID MagicBand. Based on several teardowns and the FCC documentation, there is apparently a passive RFID tag that is thought to be a Mifare Desfire EV1 with an encrypted portion of its 512k memory AND a battery-powered active RFID tag under that that can be read from a distance to trigger commemorative photos on rides and much more. The MagicBands are starting to appear on eBay for around $28.00 (Buy-It-Now), but as the program rolls out across the other parks throughout this year, I’m sure they will drop in price. I haven’t had a chance to try, but maybe the passive tag can be reprogrammed to work with Adafruit reader hardware? Makers have already started producing their own versions of the fabric covers that Disney sells. And it will just be a matter of time before someone comes up with 3D printable models of the snap-on MagicBand Band-Its._ *Read More* adafru.it/b95786 #WearableWednesday

How about tearing down a Fitbit Surge? Or even an Apple iWatch? But interestingly the Surge.

Any chance for some more detail about the battery? A bunch of users have been getting what we think are chemical burns after several weeks of use. Possibly a bad batch? FitBit hasn't said much despite having already received several RMA units that were causing this.

Another companies making a similar product called Aiigo! They Haven't yet released them yet, so when they do want to do a tear down on that also! The ability to fit so many small parts in these bracelets is fascinating.

Broke my fitbit. Any suggestions on what adhesive to use to put it back together?
@leolux099 жыл бұрын
I just tore the band off of my Charge last night, due to unsightly bubbling; you'll have to unscrew it first. Try Loctite brand super glue Gel Control. I almost gave up on my Fitbit completely, but was able to breathe more life into it through this method. If this info is still of any use to you, good luck.

What screw driver set did you use I haven't been able to find one that fits. My band fell off my glue melted from wearing it too much. lol
@beccasteudel318210 жыл бұрын
I am wondering that as well! I have the same issue. The glue on my force has come off, but with the recall, I can't get them replaced. I think it is a T1 or T2 torx screw driver because the T3 that I had was just a little bit too big.

Hello Guys. I lost my USB cable and I'm unable to charge it. Since there is no cable in the market, I'm thinking to create my own. However, I need to know the pins to power up my Fitbit Force. It is possible to check it on your powercord which pin is Positive (I supose 5 volts) and which one is Negative? Thanks.

Great video - sadly proving that the excuse I got from Fitbit that my Force with a mis-aligned screen was "altered at sale" is utter bullshit. They won't honour their warranty and claim it's invalid. Clearly a manufacturing fault.
@perplexer11 жыл бұрын
Would someone provide a pinout of the Fitbit Force USB cable? I was given the tracker but no charging cable, and I just can't bring myself to spend $20 plus $4 shipping for a silly cable. I know there are only six possible options but I'd rather not fry my device :) Thanks!
@EddSjohn11 жыл бұрын
Hi perplexer. I have the same problem. If you find out, let me know.
@perplexer11 жыл бұрын
Edward John Well that was pretty straightforward. I didn't realize the cable was reversible, so there were only two possibilities. Center pin is +5V, outer pins are GND. Happy cable construction!
@EddSjohn10 жыл бұрын
perplexer Thanks a million. I'll try it our tonight.

Have you been able to try it? I have the same problem and I'm looking for a solution.
@EddSjohn10 жыл бұрын
You can find the cable on ebay or aliexpress. I made one as perplexer instructions. It works, but it is a little bit hard to put the pins right over the contacts. :S
