Fitcamx 4K Dash Cam Install and Review - Volvo XC40

Could you make a video about how to install the rear cam of FitcamX for Volvo XC40? I already have this dash cam and I'm super happy with it. It looks exactly as an original part of my XC40.

I have a '23 C40 Recharge and just bought this dash cam... hoping for a good experience. I would recommend getting the Sandisk max endurance sd card as they hold up much better in the long run and heat during the summers.

Manufacturer video useless as doesn't tell you to remove large plastic housing. Your video fantastic as without that cannot access green plug Great work

The problem I see with this is that the camera blocks some vents below the IntelliSafe hardware, which is essential for ventilation because depending on ambient temp, it could get hot in there and the car starts running a fan that's inside ther. I didn't know this until I drove my XC40 for 8 hours in 40C and it eventually started running the fan.

@TheAngryHoneyBadger I have not installed it yet. I am looking for the connector for the mirror for power. I have a VIOFO dash cam I had in 2 other cars. I like it and the VIOFO app. for accessing videos.

Thank you. A great video and review. I think I would like to install a VIOFO dash cam. But the mirror power connector was great. What can you tell me about that? It's better than running a long wire to the fuse box. Thanks again.

The mirror power connector makes the whole process a million times easier then having to run wires to a different power source. Makes it worth it imo.

How does a parking mode work when you hardwire it? And will it drain the battery when you hardwire it?

I was worried about this but I have not had it effect the battery life of the XC40. I assume it only draws minimal power.

Jus received the version for a Peugeot e208....it worked for some minutes. After I've put all the plastics together the camera was not reachable anymore. I've already escalated to Fitcamx support...let's see what they will reply. Even if they send me a replacement camera, I cannot trust this model anymore longterm.
