Something I found afterwards is that if you want it to be able to use the parking monitoring you need to order an additional fuse box kit. I mention in the video it would need a battery to work, but sounds like it does not have that and will need to be wired to the battery of your truck. Additional wiring required.

The only benefit I ever got out of my old dash cam that had GPS is it enabled you to have access to speed data. Hugely beneficial to be able to prove to insurance companies, or possibly the court, what speed you were going when an incident took place. All that said, I'll take a clean plug and play install over GPS any old day of the week.

How hard was the rear install?

@@gizmonova Not hard at all. The kit from Fitcam is different. If you get the front cam alone the rear can’t be added later (at least that’s the way it was when I bought mine). The cable for the rear cam just plugs into the same power supply for the rear view mirror that the front cam uses and is hidden in the housing. I ran the rear cam cable through the front headliner on the passenger side, then through the passenger side headliner to the rear window. I pulled down the weatherstripping from both the passenger side doors to gain access, and only needed the trim tool provided in the kit to push the cable. There is a fair amount of excess cable length, so you need to decide where to put it. I just stuffed it in the headliner above the front passenger door and it doesn’t show. I probably could have done that a little neater by doing a long coil with a tie or something, but I think it’s fine the way it is. Just be careful of any airbag/vent/wiring stuff . I shined a flashlight in there before I stuffed the cable to make sure I wasn’t going to hit anything. I saw a video where the guy removed the A pillar cover and coiled the extra cable in there. I’m was too chicken to try that because of the airbag. If your truck is still under warranty, I would save the factory housing. If I ever have an issue with the electronics in that area, I would pull the camera & put the factory housing back on before taking it too the dealer.

Personally, I don't even notice it's there. Only issue I had was that I needed to change the location of my EZ-Pass.

I did not get the rear view, only the forward facing. Also looks like I can’t just add the rear view, but rather would have to buy a whole unit with rear view to add it.

Mostly a mistake on my side. Didn't know if I'd like the camera so kept the costs down. Thought I could just buy the add-on later, but looks like you may not be able to do that.

Good morning. Short question. If you press the recording button on the housing, the emergency recordings are saved in the length you set in the app (3min, 5min etc.) is my question. Is the time of pressing always the end of the video? Or is it the middle of the video (from 5min setting, 2.30min before pressing and 2.30min after) Unfortunately I haven't seen any reviews of this here on KZbin. Best regards

It does not but it does sync with the app. If you have a device that connects to the screen and allows phone mirroring than you could but I guess you’d just be looking at what ur already looking at.

No wifi needed. The videos do not upload to the cloud. You need to either pull the sd card or connect with your phone.
