Nice video and beautiful car. I had the fuel pump at exactly same location and I had to relocate it due to two things. It sends noise inside the car and most important once it’s above the fuel tank it struggles to suck gas and after some driving time it screams really loud. I’ve place it right in front of fuel tank and it seems to be working fine.

My fuel pump is internal not outside. That's the fuel filter you see.

@@m.pietro9087 Unfortunately I was injured pretty bad after this video was made and I haven't had a chance to drive it yet. I'm on the mend and hope to have some videos soon. Right now I'm chasing and fixing exhaust leaks that play hell wit the O2 sensor.

Good Video. I see you mention south Florida. Do you go out to any car shows? I'm in Hollywood and I have a 69 Charger.

I've owned this car 25yrs. I've done every show multiple times. Kind of took a break last few years to start a business. Also doing some other work to mine so haven't been out in a while

Thank you for the video. I'm putting my 72 charger back with a 440. I need a new gas tank, and I do not see a tank for a 72 charger on Tanks inc. If I buy a OEM one, what "in tank" fuel pump should I get? Do I need anything specific to work with the fitech, and if so, how can I ensure it will fit in the OEM tank?

stock tanks dont have room for intank pump. you will have to run an external pump.

@@hiramgibbard Good Luck. Make sure to run a 3/8" return. Just take your time and no leaks.

bought the aces efi for my charger (383) now i cannot find spark plug wire set EFI distributor and straight boot (plug end) what are you using for spark plug wires

I have a 75 Powerwagon with the 440...im just starting my fitech efi conversion on it...pretty simple so far but was wondering where would be the best place to run the fuel return line? i have the tank behind the seat setup and the factory hose from vent tube to charcoal canister was thinking about putting the efi return there and doing away with the charcoal canister but not sure if thats a good idea or not considering if i did go that route that i would no longer have a vent for tank....does this new efi system require the tank to vent????

There isn't a required vent, My tank is vented anyway, most tank are anyway.

Why didn't you just get a 440 source pump housing? About $100. No trying to use corroded old ctap

wasn't corroded. Only pipe plug was frozen.

@@mikesmopargarage4734 mine was as well. And it was problematic for my application..I have two coolant temperature sensors. One for the gauge, one for the computer. That's why I just went with it. Now it works the way I wanted it to. I think that I paid $100 to have a work around. I figure that it was worth it

@@blakenewton2781 I run factory gage along with the EFI sensor. besides the pipe plug frozen its in good shape. I kept good coolant in it so there was zero rust inside. Just didn't feel like spending extra money.

@@mikesmopargarage4734 I did a few things in regards to my engine. I have a 440 with alloy heads, headers, single plane intake and alloy water pump and housing. The heat created by the engine is significant so that's a reason why I went with alloy pump and housing ( I might at a later date install an alloy radiator). I also have a Terry's Auto Lab t stat housing.... But the heat transfers through the heads and intake manifold very quickly now so I had to control at least some of it. I used a phenolic spacer to protect the Sniper's sensors and keep the fuel charge cooler.... The coolant temperature sensor went bad ( replaced with a Standard TX9 CTS) and there have been some bugs that needed to be worked out.. I had to use a sniper drop base filter housing along with a 2 1/2" filte rto clear the hood. It would have been nice had Holley said that I needed a Lokar throttle cable and transmission kickdown cable. The supplied ,clamp on O2 sensor bung is a travesty. I welded a bung onto a header collector tube.... This was NOT a simple bolt on the way people think it is. I used the original fuel line as a return and putting the new line in required some gymnastics. In the end was it worth it? I believe that it was. I put the key in "run" I hear the pump prime, then I turn the key. It fires every single time. If it's a hot day and/ or I have been running it hard it never hiccups, it always runs well through cornering and braking transitions and it is incredibly powerful right off the bottom. Previously with the high rise, the headers and the alloy heads it reminded me of a 340cc snowmobile racing engine. Peaky and temperamental. Now it's as smooth as butter with a ferocious top end hit. I would mention the top end but I won't implicate myself like that. The car is reminiscent of a early 90s Mustang 5.0 but it has far, far more power. And it handles way better

@@blakenewton2781 I run 440 Source Alu. Heads,Weiand Alu. intake and Griffin Alum radiator. She runs strong and cool.
