It's mainly about the front section of your hair in this video, but then some about the sides, some about accessories, some about the back, okay, so its about all of your hair BUT whatever, the styles are easily acheiveable, require little skill ad are uber quick to do. I think, and hey, it's only my opinion but, I think they give an INSTANT pin up look. So, if you are just trying out a new pin up or vintage look and are still trying to get to grips with the, let's face it, relatively complicated hairstyling then this might be the video for you.

I don't really follow hair and make-up sites. I'm partially disabled and can't do fine work with my hands anymore. Your tips were simple enough I could do a few. Doesn't sound like a big deal but being able do my own hair up pretty without asking my mother or a friend for help is a Huge deal for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you! xoxoxo

I am a school teacher and at the end of the day, I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror and wonder how my elementary students have not run off screaming in horror. Your video has helped me look forward to the next school year without being worried about frightening the children. I have always adored the 1940s styles, as my mother was a young woman during that era and her pictures are amazing! What a lovely era for hair. Thank you so much!
@FitfullyVintage

I totally understand! I think these styles are perfect for you. Quick to do in the morning and there's no need to faff around with them during the day so you won't have to worry about them falling out or feeling unsecured. AND, they aren't too 'out there' in terms of style. no one's going to stare at you for being outlandish which is great for work. thank you for your comment xx

OMG Please don't say something like that, you are a gorgeous woman no matter how you style yourself, you'd look lovely in any way, your students will not feel scared of you at all!

Heck, you could even go so far as to do your hair in the styles of the era that your lessons are being taught about! Granted, this might only work if you are a history teacher, or School younger people and have to cover all the subject matter. Either way, just some food for thought! Plus, a little history lesson never hurt anybody.

I know, right? I will not name names but some of the other KZbinrs who do similar videos really are full of themselves and seem to be more interested in showing off than in helping others. Also, the fact that Natalie is so positive and doesn't care about perfection really makes these styles seem feasible enough that we actually try rather than get mad over not being naturally equipped for it. Someone else on KZbin does a bumper bang tutorial where she undoes an impressive looking bumper and does it all over again because it isn't movie star perfect. 🙄 I don't think women in the 50s spent an hour each day on their hair given that they needed more time to get things done for lack of technology, restricted business hours and lack of home delivery services. Rosie didn't have time to fuss around with her hair, she had riveting to get done.

i tried all of these and none of them worked. Then i remembered I have nergo hair so we dont get to enjoy any of these styles. i really hate hate hate my hair. have the option of one of a few styles: messy unkempt look. disgusting birds nest afro. matted morning mess. pulled back frizzy split ends everywhere look. or, the "bun". people with caucasian hair: you have no idea how blessed you are!! youll never understand the pain and misery and how ugly you feel having nego hair in this world. i feel ugly everyday, and messy. I know, i could straighten my hair, dump a ton of chemicals in it to force it straight, leaving it irreversibly damaged, my scalp burned and later scarred, the hair after that process just sort of breaks off and falls out even with the lightest tough. and still after 7 hours of chemicals and hot combs its dry, brittle and after a week, dirty and nappy again. UGHHHHH when are they going to invent a surgery to remove the entire scalp and replace all the hair with better, nicer hair?! im so sad, i would do anything to be able to achieve these gorgeous pin up styles.

Have you tried looking up natural hair pin up looks? I also have really thick ethnic hair and I totally understand the pain of it (like sleeping with your hair out and waking up with nasty accidental dread locks....eww). I do these styles all the time, you just have to make sure you do it to accommodate your hair type.
@PARASNIP

EcleticFrauline Didnt even consider it actually! Its the instant letdown of "wow thats and awesome doo...oh wait, right, that will never work". Ill check out the natural looks. its not going to be near the same as obviously i cant pin the fringe and let the rest down and have it wavy and shiny and beautiful, but ill see. At the moment i just pull it back and dont care at all how gross it is. lol', hairdepression', thanks for your reply!

Anyway, I can understand your feelings but I've seen girls with the kind of your hair, leaving it natural or with braids and they look amazing. They also add accesories like turbans and bandanas that make them look so unique and proud of their ethnicity. Let me tell you, I have "caucasian hair", almost weavy but I'm frustrated too because I can never get to make this pin up hairdos work. I don't know why!! So that's not the reason. I'm sure you'll find the way and I hope the day when you accept your hair and you look to the mirror and like what you see , arrives pretty soon. Don't get desperate, and look for alternatives. Natural is always best.

I wear my hair like this all the time, so you are just flat out wrong, when she's talking about backcombing her hair ....yeah.. well its a slightly different approach to get the look but I'm sure there are black girls with video's on here so check them out. Many black women from this time period had crazy awesome hair so it is very very doable.

This video is a godsend. I have wanted to try pin up styles for ages, but I am pretty hopeless at styling my hair. I was able to rock a cute and easy do thanks to you at a recent baby shower.

For YEARS I have struggled to do simple vintage styles! My hair is naturally curly, well, more wavy now but I still can't master the simple looks, lol. I'm going to try the ones you did and see how it goes - fingers crossed! Thanks for posting this. :D

Thank you so much for this video! I have long hair and always want to cut it bc I never know what to do with it!!! I got so many compliments when I used some of the fringes you had in your video. Since I am still a novice, your videos were perfect! Still practicing a proper victory roll! Great job showing us all how to do it ourselves!

Oh wow, the donut/bun-maker idea is brilliant! I have really fine hair that will not hold a style (or even hairgrips). I'd despaired of ever successfuly wearing a pinup style. I just tried making a roll with one of those wired foam bun tools, and got superb Bettie Paige-esque faux bangs in a minute! Hurrah, and thankyou!!
