I got given a cheap smartwatch that at 1st i thought the 120/80 was accurate. Then it had a weird reading, then i decided to remove it and lay it on the bed and it still had a great reading of 120/80. Incredible how this device can magically read my hr without being on. That means it must be the best device to sleep without wearing 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@hollywoodfrodo4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it can be hard to know - so many fitness trackers claim to do things... And how are we supposed to know if the readings they're giving us are correct or not?!?
@spacedoutET4 жыл бұрын
After alot of reading, i took the chance on the amazfit bip. Mainly coz it has 45 days battery life too. My cheap one aswell as most just die in a day or 2. I wasnt expecting much tbh......but i was well impressed. I did a couple videis on it compared to my finger oxygen bpm and new ovron evolv, both of which i also reviewed. The bpm was spot on compared. The battery is AMAZING too. It monitors my sleep and bpm at same time all night and......well, its so comfy to wear, i forget i got it on at night. If yoy search my recent videos, u can see how simple it is. 😉👍, i hate these fake advertisements on tv just to make money. This is a great product however and i give it 10/10.happy new year

1. Can you turn the Bluetooth OFF? 2. Does it require constant phone connect? 3. What areas of your phone does the app require to access? 6 years old...What other devices have come out since ? :-)
@hollywoodfrodo Жыл бұрын
Yes, 6 years so I haven't had this for a while... I don't think you can turn bluetooth off - almost all these devices are like that, which is kinda a bummer since you'd likely get at least a little more battery out of it if you could. Does not have to stay connected to phone - next time you are connected to phone and open app, the data will sync. I am not sure about areas of access especially because this has probably changed. A lot of new devices since then... In the "cheap smart watch" category this one is the one that has most impressed me: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZvFiGOHocuMac0

@@luckyblueduck I am on the nursing staff at a local clinic. I have a different model of activity tracker but it also has blood pressure and we are all skeptical. What is the difference between a fitness tracker and a smart watch?
@hollywoodfrodo2 жыл бұрын
Great question - these days, really nothing. The only difference there may be (and you could still use the terms for either) is I think generally now a "fitness tracker" is slim and a smart watch has a bigger screen. But all smart watches now do all the fitness stuff too so they are really no different - just different names for essentially the same thing.

@holywoodfrodo this is screen in scratch resistant ?? please answer ??
@hollywoodfrodo5 жыл бұрын
I don't know that I'd say it's very scratch resistant - I mean it's cheap so it doesn't have a gorilla glass face or anything. The rubber around the screen is slightly raised above the screen to help protect it.

the BPM didn't look like a blood pressure reading. Did you confuse BPM with BEATS PER MINUTE?...because that whole number reading appeared more accurate to beats per minute. (e.g. 120/80) is the format for a BP reading....ijs. nice review though.

This one did not. I don't think most do because blood pressure is very precarious. You need to be still with feet on the floor, etc. And in fact these will never be as accurate as the Cuff style. These are more for comparing against itself (if you use one of these to take your BP every day, you see the consistent numbers and know if something is way off.)

I'm sceptical. Primarily because the reading it gave is average blood pressure. I will wait for independent reviews before I decide purchasing something that could easily be guessing the blood pressure measurement. I'm not aware of any wrist based blood pressure technology that does not use applied pressure that can be considered reliable.
@hollywoodfrodo5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I hear you. It is possible. However, there are newer fitness trackers with more advanced ECG Chips that actually can not only do an ECG but accurately detect blood pressure. I'm testing one now and was just at the doctor yesterday and it seems to be quite accurate. Will be reviewing it in the coming weeks. It's new with new tech and more expensive but impressive at what it can do.

At any rate, I found it to work adequately well for the price point. I don't expect an inexpensive fitness tracker to be as good as a $250 one...

I would steer away from devices that are not FDA approved for monitoring blood pressure. Perhaps it is a coincidence that your reading matches with the reading you got from Omron BPM, or perhaps it gives a somewhat accurate reading for average ranges. Hypertension is a serious condition in today's times, and one should be very cautious on how they get their BP measured.
@hollywoodfrodo6 жыл бұрын
Not gonna disagree with you there. I don't think any fitness tracker is going to replace a traditional cuff for serious monitoring, but I think you can use it in addition to, taking note of it's readings and as a way to possibly detect a sudden change. But yeah, this is definitely not something a doctor would ever use to take bp.

This fitness tracker has a low rating on Amazon and a lot of negative reviews... 🤔
@hollywoodfrodo6 жыл бұрын
That's why I always encourage people to read the reviews. I have owned products like this that have an average 3 stars, but I have great experience with. And I have owned products that have a 4-5 star rating, but didn't work well at all for me. Definitely have to read the reviews to figure out which ones to trust. With technology it's always hard because sometimes user error or lack of knowledge can play a part. Then again, having a great user interface and making a product easy to use counts too so if a company misses that mark, then perhaps they deserve the low rating. Anyway, this tracker worked well for me, but I haven't used it for a while because I got a Gear S2 watch a while back.
