Aside from the efficiency of routines like these, and the long list of health benefits, there’s also the superficial benefits of strength training. Strength training can completely change your body, in this case, shaping and toning your thighs, lifting and firming your glutes. The lean muscle that you build through strength training is also fantastic for burning body fat and it’s a long term investment in a body that is more inclined to stay lean, requiring more calories to sustain the muscle that you’ve built. I just did this a little while ago.. thanks for another great workout! My legs are so shaky.. I personally love that feeling, which might sound odd to some people, but for me it means I worked hard. Cardio/hiit still has a place in my fitness regime but I know exactly what you mean, when you say that weight lifting has become your favorite. It has slowly but surely crept up to by my favorite as well. Ever since I got my own set of PowerBlock Adjustable dumbbells about six months ago (for my birthday) and started lifting heavy on a regular basis (along with consistent healthy eating majority of the time) I noticed changes in my body I NEVER thought possible. I'm strong, lean, and capable, which is just the best feeling considering I was obese and unhappy just a little over two years ago. THANKS SO MUCH.. I couldn't have done it without you two! :)

While not advertised as such, this counts as a 'bored easily' workout as there are no repeats. 3 sets of deadlifts, but all in different positions. This on quickly turns into a cardio workout, too, and today, I had no drive for the jump squats at the end, so I grabbed some weight and did squat/calf raises instead. Still a killer workout in minimal time. Thanks, K+D! #workout complete

You are the reason I started working out! My family never thought I would keep doing so, they thought it was just a phase, but I am already on the third month. Thank you so much for that! I have a question though. There are some controversial information about some exercises with weights. Is it true that squats with weights - as well as some other exercises - can make your thighs bulky? Are there any exercises we should avoid, if we want to keep our thighs slim - or get them slimmer - ?

is cutting out cardio and HIIT a choice (and why?), is it an experiment (see how your body evolves) or are you injured in some way ?
@asukachan079 жыл бұрын
I'm speculating that the format of this workout (I call it dynamic strength training) has some cardiovascular components to it, with the fast transitions from one compound movement to another + the active rests. Feels like the opposite of HIIT, which mixes cardio and strength but has a stronger cardio component. But that's just a guess. I'd like to see Kelli or Daniel's answer your question, too.
@shozzy_id9 жыл бұрын
+asukachan07 You're probably right, my question refers to the workout details "For the last four months I haven't been doing any traditional HIIT or intense jumping exercises at all (...) I was anxious to cut out almost all cardio and completely stop doing HIIT" ;-)
@asukachan079 жыл бұрын
+Barney Oh I didn't read the details carefully. 4 months without HIIT or jumping around does sound like a big change (impossible for me). Now I'm extra curious. Please answer, Kelli! (did you ask on Facebook? Seems like they're better at answering questions here on YT though, so fingers crossed)

This was a nice add on to the Kettlebell Hiit workout, as it's on the same 40/20 schedule and my legs and hips were already nicely warmed up. The only exercise I struggled with was the toe in dead lifts, which made my back hurt for some reason. Maybe I needed to drop my weight.
