Again great pod cast. Love the way you interview. However I extremely miss the video footage rolling of the person you’re interviewing showing their skills. Please bring back the videos

I really wish i had a calisthenics community where i live, we don't even have a single gym with parallel bars or high pull up bars, we have just weight rooms, a running track , a basketball court, and a pool. its ridiculous. Even the playgrounds here don't have pull up bars or monkey bars, and definitely not a calisthenics park for 1000 miles

Literally just finished watching the long video with Dr Yaan and got recommended to watch this video right after. I will watch it later just to take break from the screen but how does this video differentiates from the other video, just curious because this video is very long as well.

Skip Leg day's are great 😂! I hate squats and everything for legs. I love Skills Training and big legs harm's my skills. I agree with Simon with leg's training is overrated for skills. My goal is Maltese 💪🏽. Greetings from Germany ✌🏾
@RadiantShadow13
@RadiantShadow13 5 ай бұрын
yes bro but if you dont train legs you can have health problems in the future, training legs once a week for power would not make you lose any performance, if you train only for bulky legs yes, it depends on how and why you are training legs

@@samcalisthenics78 the thing its not putting a excuse of not training a body part because you lose performance, the best freestyle athletes don't train them not because they will lose performance, because it doesn't provide any benefits and they have more time to train for statics and dynamics, ofc its neccesary to have prepare legs if you fall

Barbarian here, Daniel I consider this podcast to be irresponsible. Are you aware of any "elite" calisthenics athlete who has been able to go more than say 2 or 3 years without major injury? When I say elite I just mean a guy with the current standards (what are they now, 3 types of touch lever, OAP to OAHS, giga chad, etc.) they've gone up a little in the past 10 years but the trend holds. It even seems to be true for top level ring guys. This isn't a good safety record, worse even than PL OL, strongman etc. Maybe only enhanced BBing is worse. So yes the movements may be glamorous, but they are extraordinarily dangerous. All of the calisthenics forms can be incorporated in a fulsome strength routine in a balanced way at loads less than isometric max. Sending our young men off to tear their biceps and pecs as lil beast M did (I know you remember the form and the injuries on that Barbarian, maybe older than you and younger than me) seems wrong. Why not start them off right. Don't say ZeBlack Turbo, or DeAnus (sorry for the spelling on that sporthenics italian bro) or Zef. All of them have workouts that are totally unconventional compared to lets say the Russian Streetworkout guys and their athletic descendants. I'm not saying we all need to go as soft and capoeira inflected as Ido Portal, but calisthenics athletes should have a sustainable practice unless they are competing professionally or something for big money (maybe like American Ninja Warrior a College Scholarship or Olympic gold). At a bare minimum they should be made aware that a discipline is dangerous. People go into boxing with their heads up, not so much for calisthenics. Many may even choose it as the safer option. Let me give you concrete example. I take a set of olympic rings and hook them up to the cable crossover machine. I rep out on Van Gelder pressing (actually I even have a little extra turnouts and in to really get into the deepest parts of the scapular hinging. What sort of CS activation and hypertrophy response do you expect for that, what are the risks if I say go just short of failure. There 's a kid next to me doing floor maltese holds for 8 sec sets. Sam question. Assume similar technical proficiency. Choose just one as your main pressing exercise.
