Only just stumbled across this and it’s always class to see other carpenters working. Weird how I feel fed up every now and then on site then I get back home and watch carpentry videos 😂 luckily didn’t have to cut any birds mouths on that main roof, that always saves so much time
@thetallcarpenter Жыл бұрын
Hi JH🖐Great to have you watching bud, and yes, no birds mouths on the jack rafters certainly saved a bit of time👊Thanks for your comment 😎 Cheers Del

Your having a laugh with us Del 😀😀 here, I remember all the problems you had with the trusses on this job. But like the skilled chippy you are, you overcame them all to produce a spectacular looking roof for the clients. Keep up the great work your channel is undoubtedly one of the best for carpentry work. 3 cheers for Del boy 👏👏👏

I love roofing, but can't so much do it these days with heavy timbers. Great work Del and you are very real! showing your mistakes, we all make them! This was a brilliant job of work on quite a complicated roof. I always think truss roofs are complicated but can see why, especially here with all the girder trusses eliminating other structural considerations like steels and load etc. I noticed Dan's square. well done mate top-notch. the drone shots look fantastic.
@thetallcarpenter Жыл бұрын
Your comment is lovely to read, and I appreciate you watching🤗Yes, trusses are often seen a much simpler alternative to hand cut, but in some cases can be as technical/complex as them😎Cheers Del

I was watching and trying to imagine some of the details shown in previous videos. It’s all there but look quickly! Good stuff as always. I’m hoping someday you’ll be able to show work on an irregular hip roof. Most of it is probably done on paper but it would still be fun to watch! Thanks for the view over your shoulder.

Hi OT🖐I did do a video on an irregular hip roof, but it was more of an explanation of what I'd done rather than explaining it as I was doing it😶I don't do bastard hips very often at all, but rest assured, I'll video the next one I do👍Thanks again bud😎Cheers Del

How come you don’t use your rip saw set at 45 for the cut backs. Just habit with the hand saw.? I hate chain saws so I never use onei know lots do.
@thetallcarpenter2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dez🖐I guess, because I'm sort of 'balancing' when I cut these rafters, I don't like to use a power saw as it really needs 2 hands🤔 plus I like using the hand saw every now and again💪Thanks for watching bud 😎 Cheers Del
