In this video I show you how to put a blade on a Honda brush cutter. Blades come in many shapes and sizes. They are the perfect solution for cutting down thick brush that the string trimming head just can't handle.
Here is a better blade than mine (Oregon). When I replace mine this is what I will get. amzn.to/2LuuJqT (affiliate link)
This is the genuine Honda kit with EVERYTHING you need to run a blade amzn.to/3aMrEea (affiliate link)
Note there are parts in this kit you may not need depending on your particular setup, it may be cheaper to just buy the parts you need separately. There are also plenty of non OEM options but I haven't tried them so don't want to recommend any particular model.

A brilliant video - just maybe mention anti-clockwise to tighten the nut and vice-versa.

In the States we have the 50 tooth 10" blade for small saplings and heavy tall weeds which I have on my 35CC or there is an 80T 10" for cutting bigger trees. The 8 tooth from Honda is not available. Honda over here is not into blade duty like some other brands. Don't forget to lubricate the gear head at the end of the straight shaft with cup grease; have to poke the stuff in the hole.

Thanks Vincent. I haven’t seen the honda blades here either, I forget the brand type I was using but they are very common here. Yes I a syringe to put the grease in :) thanks for adding that!

Just wanted to mention, the guard for the line-head has a different height and doesn't suit the blade, at least not on my UMK422. As the 422 only has 1 HP capacity, I find that the 'light' (1.4mm thick) triangular blade works very well for large blackberry bushes.

I have the 2 blade and a 2 blade with 2 wing tips that dip down. The one with the winglets Is great for clearing ground cover down to dirt. I use it for chopping through tall grass and mature muscadine grape Vines, I also use a lumberjack helmet with the face shield due to debris haha. Great explanation video.

I have seen those but haven’t ever tried one. I actually have a need for something like that (clearing lots of running legume weed for new garden beds) so may give it a go, thanks :) it just tangles up in my tiller.

Put the metal round corner--4 screw plate on both sides of the guard; no stacking. Gives you the best strength on the guard for durability.
