I this video I mount the aluminum grill shell and fit the three piece aluminum hood. At the end, I use the tank to tow the car out into the sunlight to get a good look at the progress. Total hours for this build now total 898.5

Man, you've done top job with that grill and hood already and you don't even have tens of years of fab experience. Awesome. Remember to buy a big cake for your father on Father's Day, not everyone has big enough garage or shop with tools to get you started. Obviously you had to get some specialized tools, but never underestimate the value of old tools gathered through multiple decades. I hope I can afford half as nice space for my projects when I have the dough to buy a house and later in my life let the offspring to use it for their creativity and giving all support I can to them. Can't wait to see this project moving forwards and the channel getting bigger, because it surely deserves it.

Amazing young man with equally amazing abilities already. Just remember, there is only one thing in life that no one can ever take away from you, and that is an education! Money, items, property and every other thing you buy, can easily be gone in an instant, but an education can never be taken away!

You say that but one off shops don't always do so well no matter how talented or skilled someone or a team is. Which is sad really. The time it takes to put together the projects is a lot longer than 3 a month. For him to make money He would probably have to put together at least 40 projects in a year. ie cost of material, time, bills and figure out how much to take out for himself. It can be a difficult thing to balance. Think of it this way, his current project would probably run someone at least 7k. How much of that is going to go into the shop? at least 40% of it I would believe. You also have to pay taxes on your sales in your state which is another cost I didn't include.

When you finish the car paint the top surfaces to stop any glare blinding you whilst driving, but leave the side aluminium bare then buff it to a mirror shine and clear coat the lot. A Green or Yellow enamel paint for top of the hood and top of the rear end would be keeping with traditional colours of the time and style of this car. Nice work so far, keep the quality high but don't use wire wheels, they flex too much when cornering and deqrade in performance over time , but they are pretty . Good luck!

Nice video's and nice work, If your are going to do more riveting, I would invest in some cleco's , to hold your metel together makes it a bit easier then screw and nuts. Also put some tape over your riveting snap, that will help your from marring your rivets heads. Just a thought.

Awesome videos man ! Those edges your fighting are trying to shrink once you roll the bead in it you could attack the problem after with a shrinker if you don’t mind the jaw marks however if you pre stretch your panel on the English wheel right where bead will be once you roll your bead and the panel shrinks it’ll come back to where it needs to be without having to rework your edges just a tip keep it up it’s rad !

Darn, I'm too late (unless you want to drill out all your solid rivets ???). With Aluminum, always "Sealant" between faying surfaces; it prevents "rattles" AND, more importantly, "Corrosion". Same with Rivet installations. Just an FYI, in Aerospace we usually use stuff called "FMS 1044 B1/2, 2 or 6 (the numbers denote the "work life" before it sets) and you just thaw out what you'll need for the day. You can buy it "Frozen" (pre-mixed) in Tubes. Usually applied with a pneumatic "Sealant Gun" but a "Caulk Gun" or even a putty knife will work for you in your Garage. Now ... about your Frame ... "Powder Coat" ??? Beautiful job "Wheeling" ... a lost art and glad to see that you are going to keep it alive !!!

I am well beyond sick of not having a rwd hot rod to build & seeing your build, I am thoroughly impressed! Where did you get the frame & suspension/drivetrain? I wish I had a garage & also, the property of which I am on does not belong to me so, even if I built a garage, I could be asked to leave & that is a big issue! The basement destroys everything you put into it! I am rather impressed by your tool collection & skill! Keep in mind that I as well appreciate tools & have a decent collection but of course, it could use some improvement! I do not own a lathe of any sort! I have a long way to go! Nice!!!
