FITTING A FRONT MOUNTED INTERCOOLER TO MY AUDI TT | PART 6

Im finally back in the UK and back on the Audi build. In this weeks video I install the Airtec front mounted intercooler but does it all go to plan?

That lower Intercooler pipe you removed is actually a structural part of the chassis, that is why it is so robust and is fitted with large plates and heavy fasteners at either end. I would recommend re fitting it.

Totally makes sense mate. The instructions for the new intercooler advised to remove it though so I wonder if I can get some sort of brace to replace it instead?

@@dnewman_7 maybe 🤔, I know it’s much easier to remove the oil filter with it missing. Seems too robust and heavy not to make a difference in the rigidity/integrity of the chassis. Let us know what you did.

@@skiptastic1000 I agree mate. I’ve had a look online and the V6 one which doesn’t have the tunnel for the oil just has the brace instead, apparently bolts straight on so that could be an option

Nice fitment and black is better at losing heat also you shouldn't have oil in the intercooler and oil check should be done with car on ground for accurate reading
