This installation seems to have gone perfectly. I am trying to fit mine on the drivers side, removed the old one etc, and finding the curve of the A panel different to the curve on my wing. I think its the wing that is at fault though, as the curve of the seam strip cover matches the A panel. So that is going to be fun to figure out how to resolve. Also at the top where you mig welded your a panel to the body, mine had a bunch of lead there, could gouge it out with a chisel and no sparks with a grinder, so taken most of that off so far, as you cant mig to it, it just splatters you if you try. I attended the London to Brighton mini run this year for the first time in a classic Mini. I've done it before in modern Minis but its not quite the same in my opinion. It was a few hundred miles but it was great fun as always and the atmosphere at Brighton is always amazing. I got there for about 10am and left about 3:30 so I'm surprised that I didn't see you (although I did see KITT). I was quite disappointed that some people were leaving at 12 and by 1pm loads of people had long gone which was a shame. Hopefully the run takes place again next year, it's definitely one of the biggest Mini shows of the year!👍

Totally agree! The first year I did the run in 2018 I camped right next to a generator that was on all night. Although, it did drown out the noise of people shouting "Alan!!" Haha!

Hi Keith, really miss those mini runs, I used to live in Somerset but moved to NZ about 13 yrs ago, there is a mini scene here but small scale. Great to see the car coming back together looking good, we are doing 3 classic mini's at the mo. Check out what my son did with his a panels on Marty's projects. Keep up the good work look forward to seeing the next video, cheers marty

Nice to see the front end looking so nice now Keith. Regarding the London to Brighton I jumped in my Mini Thirty and joined the run part way down and got to see a couple of other KZbinr’s on route and then caught up with them down Madeira Drive. It was a great day and I handed out 100 wooden coasters for Free which I made with an image of a classic mini front end on. Mark received one of them. Just waiting to see if anyone comes forward as one of them had a different sticker than the rest and that’s the winning one of a free wall art plaque of their own car to match the colour, stripes and spot lights if they have them. There’s info on my socials and the official London to Brighton Mini Run page.

Usually there is a small bridging piece between the bottom of the A panel and the wing. Bit weak there without?

I had similar thoughts. I hope you haven’t omitted that piece Keith, they’ll be a fair bit of wing flex without it!
