Is your Remus all the pieces? Meaning Intermediate pipe from GBF back front section, GBF back front section that replaces the original silencer, and connection tube to mount sport exhaust? And of course the tips.

Lovely car mate, I’m going to be looking to order my own CS fairly soon. Just have a question: I noticed at 0:39 (shot of interior door card) that your door contains a a leatherette arm rest (with red stitching) and alcantara card. It looks great, and is far superior to what I have seen fitted to CS’ previously (which is just the standard black fabric trim). Is this something that you have modified yourself, or is this part of the standard spec for Irish Clubsports? Look forward to seeing more content on here about this car 👍

For some reason , my clubsport is very quiet also mate , at you video your stock exhaust sounds louder than mine , i dont know what im gonna do , i got remus at my other car mini clubman s , full without opf , and it is very good and loud .

Hope finally in the gpf age. What kind of difference does this really make? Specifically does it make the sound deeper and louder. I’m seriously considering this but like you thought the miltek system was marginal, is this really worth the £££?

Hi Jon, The best way i could describe it is it makes the original sound of the car more lively.The pops are quite loud but It isn't an exhaust that you will necessarily notice is an aftermarket system unless you are pushing it. When driving in eco mode on the motorway etc you would hardly notice its there but in sport etc it makes a much richer sound then standard

@@ekkeruf it depends what country you are in and the laws around testing. In Ireland for the NCT test it should pass ok because the OPF is still in place, it technically has a back box and it would pass a decibels test. It is a bit of a grey area though so will have to wait and see

Hey that car sounds so great. Ordered standard MK8 GTi to be delivered next year. Question thats a non res version of the Remus that you go is there any drone coming through the cabin when you're driving daily? Nothing headache annoying. Is it loud during start up in ECO or is it alright. I'm doing some research before deciding on which exhaust to get when my MK8 GTi finally comes. For me Remus is most likely going to be installed Res or non res is the choice I need to make or and tips as well. Thanks

Hey, so i've got a MK8 GTI Performance trim (Top trim in Canada) Are there flaps on the stock exhaust, or even this remus? I noticed when i'm in sport mode it does crackle and pop more but i haven't been able to figure out why or how it does that. What exactly has VW done to these new MK8's for them to do that? Do you know?

Great car though with the money that the remus costs I would have went full custom dp and exhaust with a valve back box so drone won't kill you on long trips..anyway good luck mate enjoy your new machine

Great video and content Eric .. I have black 45 Edition and I am totally on the painting the plastic gloss black ! Mine has the Akrapovic exhaust so I’m good with that but your Remus looks and sounds the part. I’ve a carbon fibre rocker cover ordered from Germany .. another piece of shit plastic that needs replacing.. Did you get a splitter on yours and different diffuser at the bank or am I seeing things ? If so where did you get? Cheers Johnny

Your car looks great! Have one on order myself and would be fairly interested in this. Just wondering: 1) any idea if you can you fit the stock tail pipes back on to the Remus exhaust, or do only the Remus tips fit? 2) Remus offer a racing gpf back system, and a non racing system that comes with EEC approval. Did you get a chance to hear the non racing version? Wonder if there’s much of a difference in sound.

Thanks InorganicCash ! 1) You potentially could but it would be a bit of work. The stock tips are welled on to the old tail pipes so you would have to cut them off and then weld them on to the new exhaust tail pipes. I didn’t originally have the same thought but decided I wanted to keep the original exhaust all in one piece. The Remus ones bolt on no welding is needed. 2) unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to hear the sports version I do know it is resonated so imagine it would pop a lot less and be a bit quieter. One thing I would say about the race system is I was surprised how well the sound chamber works at eliminating the drone noise you would normally get from a straight though at low revs driving

I have just bought the remus racing for my 2020 mk8 GTI - completely transformed the sound. and its not ridiculously loud. as for the drone, i've probably only done about 300 ish miles in it atm and i have to be honest. with the smaller back box at the back, i don't notice any drone what so ever. has a very nice deep tone to it. ive heard that it should get a bit louder at 2000 miles in which im quite interested to see.

Thanks Richard 🏁 I will make a video of all of the modifications soon as I have been asked that a few times already over on Instagram ! I actually ordered the car on the 1st of December 2020 so at the time the edition 45 didn’t exist. I think even now though after hearing the the edition 45 with the Akrapovic on videos I’d still stick with the normal clubsport and go with an aftermarket system, would still work out a bit cheaper and more then likely sound better.

I drove GTI Clubsport, i don’t get all the fuss, it sounds good enough in sport mode. I don’t like overused pops and bangs, especially if you do anything above 50 km. It gets super annoying.
