Thanks Sean, it's certainly nicer to look at and adds something special to the interior! The old wheel as well as being wall art now also serves as a softener for my shelf edges, double win for that! 😁

Nice job - as I mentioned before same wheel as I have fitted to the "Cooper S" Traveller - lovely period extra and has a really nice feel when driving.

Lovely! Looks great! I don't think I could ever get used to the horn being on the end of the indicator stalk, that placement just seems SO odd to me, haha! A fun weekend project would be to make a frame/shadowbox to mount the old wheel in rather than just mounting it straight on the wall! (Look up what I mean if you've not heard of them!) Put it near an outlet or get a little battery powered LED light for it and it'd be a cool little let wallbox art piece!

It does suit the Mini very nicely I have to say! I've gotten used to the horn being on the end of the indicator stalk as the Mégane has it there too. The Fiat seems odd to me given that is in the centre of the wheel haha. That does sound like a great idea for a project. I think I know what you mean by the shadowbox but I will have a look just to make sure that I am thinking of the same thing 😄 The Mini wheel does hold a purpose where it is in fairness to it, the shelves are around head height of my other family members so the steering wheel is a little bit of cushioning currently. I do have another steering wheel somewhere though that I could try out the shadowbox idea with!

Absolutely, without recording, this would have taken about 3 minutes to change and as I still have the original wheel, it's a quick and easy swap back if I wish to.

Looks loads nicer, I must admit I’d like a Quartic on the Allegro (even though they had been phased out before mine was made) trouble is they fetch silly money.

It does. I like the standard 3 spoke wheen the Minis of this era came with but this just adds a little bit more to the looks. The quartic is definitely a unique style of wheel. What sort of price are they going for now?

@@FuelPower it’s amazing how allegros get slated for the quartic wheel but so many cars (including my own daily driver FR Leon) come with flat bottom similar wheels

I have just purchased JBW steering wheel and V3 steering bass and it doesn’t seem to fit over the shaft right the way down. there was also nothing to cancel the indicator did you have the same problem?

Hi Rachelle, I haven't had that problem with mine when installing my wood rim steering wheel. The Wheel and boss was a kit I bought from Huddersfield Mini Spares (link to item in the video description) and it went on easily enough. It was a tight fit of course and had to push it fairly hard but never had a problem with installing it. I haven't had a problem with my indicators either, that said, mine didn't always self cancel with the original steering wheel.
