I have the XHO kit installed on my AI Hydra 32 over my 35 gallon Cube tank. I wanted more programming other than a simple on / off. I wasn't going to spend the money for what reef brite wants for there wireless controller. I purchased a Nicrew programmable LED light controller from Amazon for $15.00 U.S. funds. It allows you to set a program schedule. I programmed mine to ramp up in the morning and will ramp down in the evening. The only time I have to do anything with the controller is if I lose power to my home for some reason. I just have to reset up the schedule. It has been a great addition to my reef brites and could not be happier with the set up.

No regrets at all with adding the Reefbrites. I wouldn't be without lighting bars now. They add so much colour to the corals and a broad spectrum of light across the entire tank. I'm planning an update video very soon. Thank you for watching and commenting mate 🙂.

@jaysrealreefuk
@jaysrealreefuk 4 ай бұрын
@BodyworkASMR you won't be disappointed mate. Corals will grow and pop so nicely. For the Radion I use the standard LPS template. Slowly, ramp up the intensity over time so as not to over expose and kill your corals. My Radion is currently on 57% intensity 👍. For the ReefBrite I have these on a smart switch and they run between 4 and 7:45pm for the evening deeper blues coral pop 🙌. If you want to know anymore, just ask mate. Take Care

Absolutely right, it gets down to the lower 400nm which is very close to UVA. As you say, it definitely gives you more coral colouration. Been very impressed so far. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. Take care mate 🙂

@@jaysrealreefuk they don't go down as far as 400 dude, they peak around 440 and 460. The spectral graph on their website also confirms this. There isn't near UV in these. I used to have a 3ft version 👍 great video and the tabk looks awsome with them on either way 👍

@@jaysrealreefuk I ordered it off of ebay from a place called leafgreensolutions. I feel lucky because they're based out of a town that's an hour or less from me. Hopefully that means it gets to me quick. Only downside to all this is I may have to move my system out a few inches from the wall to install. Thinking about doing it during a water change so I can drain about half the tank then move a little. I haven't watched the livestreams. Although I would love to look it up and check it out! I just love the hobby and I like subscribing to people who put out great content (such as yourself!). I enjoy seeing other people's tanks and and taking in as much knowledge as I can from fellow reefers.

I have an update. I finally got the 3D printed part to mount the Radion. I have good news and bad news. The good: It's finally installed and it looks great! The bad: I had the 3D printed part on my desk. My cat knocked it off and it broke in half. Despite the break, I was still able to slide the control box over and screw it in. I had to use clippers to get off the leftover plastic to get the radion side of the part to line up with the screw hole. While securing the radion to the RMS mount, I dropped the hex wrench as I tightened it. I have no clue where it went. I tried looking in the back chambers but couldn't see it nor would my arm fit all the way down to feel without getting stuck. I tried looking on the floor around the tank and I can't find it at all. I have a feeling it may be in the tank or in the chambers and I just can't find it! It's frustrating because I don't want it to rust and crash my system! -Edit- Got the Hexwrench! Was in skimmer chamber. Radion and Reefbrites let me see it. Had to stand on a chair and it let me get my arm all the way down to grab it. Yay!

Goodness, so glad you've found the hex wrench, that would've been an absolute disaster. You are going to love the growth and colour of the Radions and XHO kit. @@jaysrealreefuk Sorry for not getting back to you in a timely manner! Been super busy with work. I still like the Reefbrites but I want to get the dimmer so I can control it via app. So far, I just unplug and re-plug which is a little annoying. I do have insta but I barely have anything on it. Mainly use it to message others. I could share photos sometime but I have to buy filters for my phone or find a better way to take photos/video without it looking so washed out. I saw you uploaded a new video. Going to watch it soon! The next step I want to try on my journey is dosing. As of right now, the only LPS I have is a couple hammer corals. They seem to be doing okay but they don't extend all the way. Not sure if it's because I need to dose or if they need lower flow or what. I have been researching kalkwasser, 2-part, or even All for Reef. Not sure which route I want to go LOL. I got mostly softies right now so the demand is probably low. Anyhow, have a great day! I saw you uploaded a new vid recently so I'll have to watch it!

Incredible - I think lights with reflectors are the best. There's no UV at all though - there's nothing much under 420nm from looking at the spectrum on Reefbrite - but that's great I think for a mostly LPS tank you don't want UV and these lights are 450/470nm which really gives you pop. I'm thinking about the Blade Grows and just running them in the evening without the whites (which is also 450/470nm). It will be a while though as I already have a couple of custom bars. The benefit of these lights for the corals is really the fill. I would move your lights forward and angle the front one back so the corals grow out towards the front a bit more. Mine sort of grow back and it looks weird as I don't run my front bar very often. Happy reefing and I think you made a great choice! Much better than getting the Gen 6 upgrade as those lenses are just too wide for your tank anyhow and you have the diffuser. Possibly the color the Gen 6 produces is better but you've achieved that with these lights anyhow. The Gen5s have 2 405nm diodes - that's plenty I think for an LPS tank. The Gen6 blues have 2 x 495nm and 1 x 405 - for LPS I don't think there is a benefit there. The benefit for the Gen 6's is the 6 x 430nm diodes and the 2 warm whites which I think are both better for the corals and should really add to the colors you see in your tank. I've got a Gen 6 Blue but haven't used it yet - waiting for my next build and my Gen 5 is the Pro version (and I just run that on my QT tank). Anyhow I care more about Acropora so different approach - Happy Reefing and congrats!
