In this video I am building another version of the Mini Baja Bug that I built recently. this project is a Mini Lifted Muscle Car using the fiberglass body from the lifted go kart project that I built many years ago. For this project I want it to be 4WD so I am using a Polaris gearbox and front diff, I think its off of a sportsman 500. We are geeting close to finishing the frame we just need to finish installing everything then we can fully weld the frame together.
Check out the Everlast welder I used in this video:

I wouldn’t mind seeing you build a portable easy to disassemble or fold fab table. You definitely need one.

That was sooo sketchy the way the table bent as he picked up the engine. Amazed it didn't suddenly cut away to voiceover.

One of my friends had this same car body on his go cart in the 80s. His dad made it wider to fit a two seat cart. Just seeing this car body brought back memories.

Totally agree with others. You need to build a fab table that lowers almost to the floor. You will need something for the next larger build you are setting up for.

The last time I worked with fibreglass, I resorted to using rubber washers on the inside, and padded metal washers on the outside, to prevent cracking ;)

This build is really starting to look sexy, as you said, the top of the engine protruding out of the body looks cool. Don't worry about your productivity, we are just happy to see you twice a week making stuff (even a new table, you need one badly 😁) Keep up the good work, been watching your videos for so many years, i'm still amazed how motivated you are, you are a hard worker, huge respect.

Great triangulation. Made a lot of progress over the years. Planning ahead for disassembly, what? who needs that? The body split is great. How the big cars do it. You could even perma-mount the rear side fenders on the frame, and just remove the rear engine cover. Ahh this way will work great too. Just a couple bolts.

Could it be time to upgrade to an actual fab table, Chris? 🤔 You certainly deserve one! This project is really coming along, despite the frigid weather 🥶 🧊 It's been kinda cold here in East Tennessee too. I love your videos, and I'm looking forward to seeing some more soon!

It's coming along nicely. That's going to be a cool ride, lol. You might want to consider some kind of overhead hoist to be lifting the motors. Maybe you could build it yourself in a video. Just don't want to see you get hurt lifting or falling off the table. Take care and I'll see you later.

You need to cut the bar and fiberglass that is above the windshield out of there. That is going to mess up you face if you hit something and this would make it easier to get in and out. I would shorten the steering shaft a few inches too and make the steering wheel removeable.

2:02 - You could have mounted a tube around it that was able to be unbolted and removed.... You can even cut a section out for clearance and still have it be really strong. Edit: And after all of this work building the frame you decide to cut the body in half.... If you did that from the beginning you could have stretched this a little longer and added panels between the body halves. 😩😂👍 Edit 2: You should mount the back half on hinges w/ those finger bolts so you can tip it up in the field without needing a wrench or drill... That would make it a lot easier to deal w/ when out riding, and it would look cool too. 😁👍

Always enjoy your projects. You have a good eye and keen mind for problem solving. So on this project, I was wondering if you had considered the possibility of making this body longer? Fiberglass is very easy to work with as far as adding material. I've done body work most of my life, worked for a company that manufactured fiberglass products of all kinds and even done fiberglass body repairs. Making this body a little larger in length and height would have made many of your engineering problems much easier to solve. Always look forward to seeing what you come up with next. Would enjoy working on a project with you sometime, long distance of course.
