Blimey that would have given me a heart attack putting that in; you made that look a lot easier than undoubtedly it was not. Lovely work.

I always make to top section of stairs first (kite winders newel etc )then simply push the bottom section up to it and fix the 2 together
@Mr_A_Builders2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a good method Tony. As I said in the video when you don’t do it regularly it all takes a lot longer. I’ll remember that method of yours for next time. Thanks for commenting mate 👍🏻

@@Mr_A_Builders fitted over 40 double winders on a development so big learning curve for me , but I found makeing the top section 1st made the job a little easier 👍

Really interesting video. What is the advantage to buying a readymade staircase rather than making it yourselves? Is it time or cost?
@Mr_A_Builders2 жыл бұрын
Hi Billy it’s very much both. Although the team are more than capable of making joinery there just isn’t any need when you can pay what we did for this staircase and have it all delivered in kit form to be installed. Plus my workshop became a bar four years ago 😁thanks for commenting Billy 👍🏻

Would it be possible to assemble the whole stairs in the loft and screw through the back of the strings etc , and with all those bodies lift it in ? There looks to be plenty of room in the loft 👍
@Mr_A_Builders2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dermot. Thanks for the comment and you maybe right with that option but as I pointed out in the video I don’t do stair installs every day or even every month so I do it the way my brain works at the time to make sure it all goes as it should do and if for any reason I have my measurements incorrect we would be in trouble with it all glued and screwed together. Have a good weekend Dermot 👍🏻

That's the easiest and best way to fit stairs with winders if you've got enough room in the loft or floor above, assemble the full staircase and drop it in the hole.

What pilot bits are you using?

Hi Adam and thanks for the comment on our channel. I purchased this set back in July from Amazon Trend SNAP/HD1/SET Snappy Drill Set - 16 piece, Black And added this set also from Amazon. Trend Snap/CS/Set 5-Piece Drill Countersink Set I swap and change my bits all the time but these are still going strong 👍🏻
