I must admit I have never heard of this method. I've always sloped the shoulder down from the neckline and then had to adjust the armhole. This might be a lot easier. I'll have to try it. Thanks.

I really hoped this was for me. My bust to shoulders is very long and i have square broad shoulders if i did this i would shorten my bust to neck point even more. I cant find anything on know how broad i am everything just assumes you know exactly what you are.

Thank you for this video! I am trying to eliminate front armhole gaping by removing some armhole length at the shoulder. I started where the shoulder seam meets the armhole and cut diagonally from 0.75 inches below the shoulder seam at the armhole up to nothing at the neckline. I am choosing to eliminate some armhole length this way because I don't want to increase the size of the French dart on my front bodice by pivoting the armhole fullness into it. Is 0.75 in too much to eliminate in a shoulder slope adjustment? Thanks.

It is hard to say without seeing it whether it is too much. Your best bet is to make the change, make a muslin, and make sure the adjustment hasn't negatively effected other areas of the bodice.

Is there a way of using the slash and spread method to copy a bust dart from a ready made top? I like to copy patterns from clothes I have that fit me well and have found the darts a challenge.

I assume you’d need to +/- any neck binding or interfacing too?
