Fitting Wind Deflectors to our Campervan - Fiat Ducato, Citroen Jumper, Peugeot Boxer

We fit a Team Heko wind and rain deflector to our Fiat Ducato based campervan/motorhome to allow us to have the windows part down and to improve comfort.
These also fit the similar vans; Citroen Jumper and Peugeot Boxer as well as the Fiat Ducato.
It took me about 10 minutes to complete the job.

I have has them laying around for months as ordered them after watching Rick fit them way before having the van and finally got round to fitting them just before we went to Scotland - they haven’t fallen off (yet) either 😀 They were nice and straightforward to fit too which makes a change as I was worried I would make a pigs ear of stuff like that and it would snap or get stuck or something 😀 All the best, David 👍

Yes definitely have - I popped a little bit of washing up liquid on the rubber to ease it up a little - the passenger side seemed looser than the drivers side but that seemed to get it on the way so you weren’t forcing the window up 👍

Well done David, I must look for Peugeot Boxer ones, I have fitted a bonnet guard to deflect insects and the like and mirror guards, these would complete the front end. It’s goes on and one, can’t you spend lots of cash on a toy like a van ech🤣😂🤣 Cheers Mike🍷

Thanks for this. Just fitted mine. Which way round do you fit the clips; against the plastic (facing out) or facing in?

In the previous comments, Colin, I think you got the answer from some useful instructions from Panzerman which hopefully helped - push the deflectors in place first. Push the windows up and down a couple if times then bring the window down. The clip sits inside the seal space approximately 10cm apart. Push them into place with a flat knife or something similar. Clips point towards the cab...

Hi Darren, I’m sure I’ve seen some bonnet stone protectors fitted to a CV van in the CV Owners group but haven’t fitted any myself (certainly not at this point) I have an under engine protector to fit though. Want to also get something to protect the radiator(s) too against stone chips. All the best, David 👍

From the outside I think they make the van look more streamlined, they seem to reduce wind noise slightly too around the window area which is good. So far really pleased with them and will allow us to leave the window slightly open without getting rain in too when needed so all in all I think worth the money and small effort to fit them. I did find like Rick that I had to put a bit of washing up liquid on the drivers side to make sure the window ran up smoothly but other than that all good 👍 All the best, David

Hi thanks for the vid, what I really wanted to see though is where the metal clips go? Also my deflectors only came with one bag of clips, I.e. 4 in number was this the same with your deflectors?

Hi, yes just 4 clips same as you - I will pop a photo on when I get chance as I put the clips in after I allowed them to settle - they just help stop someone removing them (or make it more difficult) - all the best, David 👍

Thanks Tim - ref wind noise I think it’s reduced it slightly but that could be psychological - in theory I would think that may be the case that it would as smoother surface. (All be it I am more of an electronics guy than aerodynamics 😃) I had them sat around for ages as bought them before I got the van and finally got around to fitting them 😀 all the best, David 👍

Hi Sid, do you know what I still haven’t got round to fitting those (I’m not actually sure I know where they are now as they were in the to do list for so long) I’ve not had any bother without them I believe it’s to help prevent folks pinching them if you leave the window open. When I looked at fitting them I think it said to do them with long nose pliers if I remember rightly. Sorry about that, all the best, David 👍

@@LeisureBit David, many thanks for your reply. The instructions are not very clear but I believe that they can be inserted into the rubber seal with a screwdriver so I'll try that. Did fit the OEM mudflaps without fuss. Hopefully they will go some way to keeping the step, and the underside of the van, clean. Another job out of the way. Just over a week to go before our 2024 journey starts. Take care. Sid
