I wouldn't say a new genre. But they certainly are amazing.~ Underrated, I would say yes, but the growing popularity is wonderful to see. Different, certainly, if you are new to this kind of music. ^^ I remember my grandma said to me ''Indie music and alternative is all trash, etc.'' then she tells me how she loves this band. I just had to facepalm for a while. ._. I guess indie and alternative is all unique for each band, but I hate how one band can ruin and set the standard for the whole genre. Maybe i'm exaggerating and I sound stupid. Either way, I feel like there is some weirdo out there who understands.

LYRIC Girl, I get tired from sleeping alone in my bed I really need you now. I've been trying to get back, the days that we had But see, I don't know how. There's no way to conceive the right plans in my head I just can't hold them down. All my hopes they stay curled in between these four walls And I can't shake them out. It's 6 in the morning, I'm still awake My sleepless heart is torn up, babe. Our love song's on the radio, But these words I hear they're not for me, no. (x2) I'm tryin' to keep up, tryin' to move on Beyond this pain, before I break. See it's hard to confess, but I miss all the time we spent I can't explain. Cause when I start up the nerve to reach out to you, babe, It just floats away. Still I dream of the days when we were on the same page I really want them now. All my hopes they stay curled in between these four walls And I can't shake them out. It's 6 in the morning, I'm still awake My sleepless heart is torn up, babe. I feel like this song is about two people who just broke up and they both want each other but there's something holding them off. Pride, maybe? Instead of one person who is suffering, this sing portrays two people who suffered instead and it's beautifully done.

Idk who needs to hear this but God put it on my heart to say this. When I was 2 years old I was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Every doctor my parents took me to said I was colicky. God lead us to a doctor at childrens hospital and he diagnoses me with kidney cancer. I had a wilms tumor on my left kidney the size of a softball. I went through chemothereapy and eventually got my kidney removed. I've been cancer free for 12 years! I've also been saved since i was 8. Al we have to do to be saved is ask and mean it from our heart and we will go to heaven when we die. If you remember anything that I'm saying let it be that all we have to do to be saved is ask and that god loves you and so do i! Idk who needed to hear this but God put it on my heart to say this. If anyone needs any prayers just reply to my comment. God loves you and so do I God bless you all!

I feel like it's a plane ride through the 80s, stopping off add a rainbow to grab some Skittles then taking a flying leap through love, funk, pop and a little reggae.. then landing on a little airstrip in heaven. Fitz has only half the sound then you plug in the tantrums and it becomes a magical mesh of the greatest sound God could ever give one group. There's no reason at least guys shouldn't be on every billboard, every radio station, and an every auditorium worldwide. I think my musical God's for allowing me define such heavenly music. There's no other sound that could even come close. There's not a band out there they could talk you guys. Love you Fitz and the Tantrums! You are what makes music to die for. I always love seeing the dark, shallow sky slowly filling with blue around the time and I always know I have to have the feeling this one song gives me. Haven’t listened to this band for awhile brings back so many memories from middle school. I remember waking up extra early in 8th grade for studying lessons to prepare for an exam to get into Boston Latin Academy. My older bro would drive me to school for these lessons and I remember Fitz and the Tantrums playing on the car radio as I looked at the beautiful morning sun coming up. I wasn’t accepted into this high school obviously lol but regardless I remember having fun and joking around with my friends in the mostly empty school building bc it was so early. When I hear this band I remember all the fun memories from 8th grade, it was bittersweet when I graduated bc I knew I wouldn’t be going to the same HS as my friends and one of them was moving away. Even though school sucked waking up early, dealing with rude classmates, annoying teachers, I still have a lot found memories of it. Also, this song makes me wanna wake up at 6am and take a nice peaceful walk😊.

They are an Soul Indypop kinda band, so what you are hearing is really a great rendition of 70s super soul with a quick hit of modern pop. Some of the synthy stuff bounces into the early 80s, but this is strait up 70s glory. George Clinton would be proud. If you EVER get a chance to see them live, especially somewhere small. PLEASE DO IT, its a fantastic show. And I am a picky bastard too. :)
