Fitz is my favorite character on the show, always has been, and I think that reason mostly ties into this plot. The way he goes from seeing Ward as a brother, to feeling betrayed and hopeless, to wanting to murder him every time he walks into the room, is brilliant.
@DeadBore
@DeadBore 3 жыл бұрын
And it’s not just Ward, either, the way Iain portrays Fitz’s struggles with mental illness, first stammering, which continues, and they give the reason for it to be his FATHER, then apoxia, definitely not mental, but how he deals with it, how it messes with his mind and makes his hands shake means he can’t take his mind off it like he usually does, then dealing with Simmons going through the monolith (twice), hearing Simmons get tortured by a person he used to think of as his brother, being the only person not taken, and being locked up for 6 months, not able to do ANYTHING. That’s not even mentioning his mental break after the Framework, or missing his own wedding and seeing himself dead and SO MANY OTHER THINGS. By the SECOND SEASON, the show takes away the things that are most precious to him. His genius, and Simmons. You can clearly see he’s affected by Simmons leaving, and being able to see and talk to his version of her, is possibly a reference to his BAD mental break following the Framework, where the one thing he didn’t have, the ONE THING he wanted, his one regret, wasn’t anything to do with him. It was SO unlike the others. He just wanted his father to love him. Iain is so good at making us feel for the genius honestly stereotypically nervous, gorgeous character of Fitz, with a massive crush on a friend that he doesn’t ever say because he doesn’t want her to leave, but at the end of season 6, he’s so much more than that. (I’m from the UK, so s7 isn’t watchable for me yet) Like dude, the others suffer, but he’s such a sweet bean and he suffers so much... you can’t not love him by the end.

The funny thing about framework is it took away their most regretted event, so we can say that Ward's biggest regret is meeting Garret and Fitz's biggest regret is he can't get his father's approval. Ward meets Garret = Hydra; Ward meets Victoria = Shield Fitz without his father = Shield; Fitz with his father = Hydra For me, they're actually the same, both of them are influenced by the person they met and looked up to when they were a teenager
@TaurielTheElf
@TaurielTheElf 5 ай бұрын
Ward not meeting Garrett was a result of Coulson's regret, not Ward's. Coulson's regret was joining SHIELD, so by eliminating that, no one was there to save Garrett's life in 1990. Garrett dies before Ward goes to prison, so Ward never meets him.

It is pretty funny Fitz was the only person realized Ward could have killed him and Simmons on that plane but he chose lock them in a containment pod and drop it in the ocean. On some deep level Ward wanted to betray Hydra. The team was truly the family he never had. The darkness he had inside of him that's what made him go deeper down his personal hell he didn't have anybody with good influence to help him to come back from the darkness. Just like what we learned in the final scene of Shield if Ward really did had good influence he would have been a good person example Ward from the framework. Just like in real life when you are full of Darkness if you don't have someone of Lights to either for you you'll never be free from your demons and Ward had a lot of f****** demons. I just really feel like the team just gave up. Just like on Supernatural when Sam went dark because of the demon blood Dean didn't give up on Sam even when his brother Sam was the person responsible for releasing Lucifer he still didn't give up on his brother. Even when Sam was taken over by Lucifer he didn't give up on his brother. It doesn't matter what someone did if there's a way to bring them back to who they used to be you need to try. The team keep in fighting Ward that's what pushed him further down too
@unknown-xr3lq
@unknown-xr3lq 3 жыл бұрын
Agree, but the difference between Ward and dark!Sam (other than Sam's intention was never to free Lucifer) is sam had always been a good person, someone who fights evil and monsters and willing to sacrifice his life to save others and Dean knew who that person was before he hit a dark point(the same with doctor!fitz and daisy under hive's brainwashing) that why the team never gave up on fitz and daizy because they knew who they were fighting for, they saw enough good in them to know but with ward here the team never knew the good version of him until the framework, any good they saw in real ward was either an act or questionable for good and obvious reasons, the team knew there was some good in ward and he wasn't all evil (maybe except simmons and may) but it would've been unrealistic to give him a chance just because they think he could've been good under different circumstances because alot of people can, yes it may've helped ward and turned him into a better person if they did because ward was a person who needed someone to devote himself to, and if for once he devoted himself for someone good, someone who isn't toxic and abusive as his family and garrett were but still it was a slim chance beacuse his worldview was corrupted and his problems run deeper than that, he cared about the team but I doubt them trusting him would've helped him enough to become a healthy person because like you said ward never had a good influence in his life, we already know his parents were psychos and his mother used to torture him and his brother so I doubt he had any good influence until he met the team but it was already too late to let that good overpower the darkness inside of him, he didn't just lack having someone to teach him how to be good, he also was driven to the dark side since he was a kid by Christian and his parents (who forced him to torture and almost kill their younger brother) and by Garrett who already wanted to build him into a weapon for him to use, what I mean his dark side had been provoked since he was a child until he turned into that person, he was messed up by the end I don't think the team giving him a chance would've helped him much because his whole worldview was corrupted by others he never managed to see the world on his own or to grow into his own person.

After coming out the framework, when Fitz says that he’s just like Ward, I started to feel really bad for Ward. Fitz, one of the kindest and most innocent characters became vicious and heartless in the Framework, even worse than Ward imo, all because of one change in his life

Ok a lot of people think that dropping FitzSimmons on the bottom of the ocean was the turning point of evil. But Garrett told ward to kill them instead he put them in one of the containment pods that were supposed to float on water and as ward’s not a scientist he didn’t realize that the speed they were flying and the height they had in the air would cause it to gain velocity where it would sink, he was trying to save them

When you think about, Ward was a victim, his parents and brother abused, got dumped at juvie, got recruited by a psycho (Garrett), then got dumped in the middle of nowhere with a backpack and a dog who Garrett then made him kill, then convinced him that caring was a weakness, then the team locked him in the basement and then didn't care when he tried to commit suicide, and then handed him off to his abusive brother His family abused him Garrett brainwashed him The team didn't care about him

I still think Ward tried to save them. He gave them both a chance by dropping 'em in the ocean. Ward could've easily shoot Fitz and Simmons but he didn't.
@frakkintoasterluvva7920
@frakkintoasterluvva7920 6 жыл бұрын
He couldn't. Fitz had locked up himself and Simmons in the pod. Dropping them into the ocean was the only way to try to kill them and fulfill Garrett's order. And it was clear that, even though he didn't want to kill them, fulfilling Garrett's orders was his priority. There was nothing about Ward's behavior in that scene that indicated he wanted to save them. He kept repeating "I have my orders" and insisting Fitz open the pod, then he concluded that he cared about them and 'it was a weakness'. A weakness is something Garrett had taught him you need to squash and not let it affect you.

@@carrieloman6489 Like was said above, Ward is basically a broken child with an assassin's skills, and just like a child he's unable to take responsibility for his actions, not without a 'but' or an excuse following right after. He wanted to save them? Should've told them to stay quiet and crouch behind that door so no one will know they're there, then shot in the air twice and pretended to dispose of the bodies or something. Hell, even "forgetting" or quietly sabotaging the disengage mechanism while leaving a landmine of some sort outside the pod would've worked. It was far from a binary choice between "go against Garret" and "kill Fitzsimmons"

0:57 that's the scene I'm talking about they were trapped in there he could have got someone on Garret steam to help him to open it and Ward could have just kill them with a gun he chose to eject the pod in the ocean and lie to Garret and say that the job was done. Ward was always a person who followed orders he chose not to follow orders that was a sign he was having second thoughts. Everybody knows how smart Fitz and Simmons are I'm pretty sure Ward figure it out that they could have easily got themselves out of that pod in the ocean. We may never know if war was playing both sides because store was it does seem like he might had. You never decide what Supernatural when Dean pushed Sam away when they fast traveled for years in the future Sam destroy the entire Earth and filled with Croatoan mutants. That's what happen when somebody is pure evil and you don't try to help them to see the light it will just make things worse. I know a lot about the subject because I have had friends who actually wore going through their personal demons if somebody like me wasn't there to help them to be the person that they used to be it would have been so much more worse for them

On the scene when the team is wearing all-black if fits told the team what Ward said that he tried to save them maybe things would have been different. Agents of Shield is a good show but sometimes the writing is just off same thing with the final season Pierre the whole season made it seem like Fitz actually died from some kind of disease because they kept talking about blood work. Honestly I just felt like they turn the final two episodes into let's make the fans happy that Fitz and Simmons are happy LOL just like what they did iZombie even though we knew that Liv died in that explosion they still made it seem like she survived which did not make any sense there was no way to escape

se o ward não tivesse sido moldado pelo garret ele seria um bom agente ,pq ele diz que deve tudo ao garret e quando ele joga o fitz e simmons na agua ela fala que gostava deles e fraquezas deveriam ser eliminadas

Admittedly after watching that last video this seems a little week. But when a master of and art comes out with a week video, it's still brilliant. I would kill for your tallant. I hope you have a good curear doing stuff like this. Your way to tallanted not to be doing something with this..... Actully I change my mind. stay away from curears doing this. If you had to do it all the time you might stop making these videos for me to watch.

I’m sorry but in my opinion it went bad when they made the frame work, I preferred the stuff when they were on earth doing spy type stuff. (Also, it seems like they realised they shouldn’t have killed off fits and colson so they did some weird time travel stuff to fix it )
