If only people that don’t appreciate custom cars knew the amount of knowledge and time it takes to create these masterpieces, they’d get an idea as why they cost so much to create. Time, know how, skill and understanding. I don’t have 1/4 the required tools but I’ll have a go at making repair panels. Currently I’m making an A-B pillar top section for a 1992 Ford Iveco XLWB motorhome, it’s got the gutter section, numerous folds and curved in sections that can’t be done in one piece. So loads of measuring, paper/cardboard templates, tack welding, drill 5mm holes for spot welding and now it’s becoming a substantial lump of repair section...may need a crane to lift it in place 😂😂. Great vids Fitzee...who said the internet is full bad stuff 🤙🏻

Tony, a few weeks ago, I wrote asking about a problem I was having seeing the seam when welding. More light didn’t do it. I talked to Hobart tech support and they suggested a Miller helmet with “Clear-Light” lens. What a major difference. When not welding or in the “Grind Mode”, it’s like a light pair of sunglasses on. Now when welding, I can see were I’m at. $119 USD/$143 USD w/ shipping and tax. Well worth it.

Oh man Fitzee, that looks nice and it looks factory! Most of the time it's easy to see a wheel well was enlarged to get the big meats under the rear or to get more clearance for the caster swing on wider front tires. When someone does it right, I always catch myself looking it over trying to figure out how they did it. You made it look very easy. I don't know how you thought about all issues of things like cutting out straight across the top to the 90° point and going straight down with the cut. Then you described to us why your cutting across at an angle and not involving all that other quarter panel metal, I was thinking that was freakin genius. I can't imagine if I ever attempted doing that, how bad it would have looked. I'm sure I would have spent weeks trying to reshape the entire rear quarter to make it look half decent. Thank you for another great video!
