All good advice Brian for Older Golfers. Since you are now approaching the senior category, then at 86, I will now consider myself to be a super senior. Things that I have done since entering this category, I have narrowed my stance, flared out my feet on my set up, and started taken a 3/4 swing. After not going to the gym for at least three years because of Co-Vid, I have now returned on a schedule of four day a week. I felt that I was loosing the strength in my arms, legs, back, and shoulders. These are exercises for golfers I am doing, not for body building purposes. I will keep you posted on my results. Keep Up The Good Work Brian!

Thank you another good tip. This is a tip for a lifetime. When you get old you need it all you can get. Thank you.

One thing I have seen is seniors being taught to stand closed and have a strong grip. Sounds good for more run out but you lose your height and your follow through. Hard to turn through when your left hip is in the damn way. I always advise standing a fraction open or turning that ledt foot out a bit and finding an older Pro who is sympathetic to our aches and pains as he has them himself! Simon

@@thehairygolfer as a rule I tend not to encourage a strong grip. There are exceptions but I want people to learn to release their hands and a strong grip discourages this. I’m certainly in the older (not old) category these days. I’m glad you are enjoying my content Simon.

Narrow stance & feel weight on heel was brilliant. Hit some of the best irons for a long long time. Felt effortless & lost distance regained. Need to practice this more but these tips unlocked what I’ve seen on other channels but didn’t understand. 👍👍

Great tips Brian. Being a bit of a Jumbo and a Coffin Dodger I can honestly say the my driving has improved since narrowing my stance and controlling the urge to swing hard. At my age the biggest problem is remembering to do it!!!! Stay safe and thanks

Brian, you must have somehow had an opportunity to see my swing lately. These two problems are spot on. In working so hard to get away from “the sways”, which typically caused me to top the ball, I have frozen my right foot (I’m left handed) in order to stop the sways. What I’ve found is that I now wonder why I keep pulling shots far right. A few times I have actually inadvertently kept my stance narrower and I sense a bit of hip movement that I wasn’t getting when keeping my stance quite wide and immobile. Also, I find myself constantly trying to swing hard to “get distance”. I’ll be playing this week but tomorrow I’ll be at the range working on these two pointers. Thank you for the advice!

Ha ha. KZbin has a new feature called “stalk”. I can see all of my subscribers golf swings 😀 Seriously I am glad the video has helped you. I’m glad you are trying it out before you play. Brian.

Great tip on narrower stance Brian. I have a mate, mid 50's, athletic, plays off 9 and outdrives me by 20m. He has a shoulder width stance and the laziest swing I know of - now I realise why he does it

Great observation Michael. Think Ernie Els. The big easy. Club heads speed of 124 mph.

Need all the help I can get now I'm in my 50s! Usually I open the feet up to help with an easier turn, but will give the heel-lift a go too, thanks.

Really good video Brian, I have been working on the stance and noticed mine has become too large. The lifting of the left foot is intriguing, I will have a shot at that this afternoon
@fitzygolfpro2 ай бұрын
It’s worth trying Peter but in your case just be a little careful as you could lose balance with it.

Brian how about flaring your toes out And dropping you right foot back about 3 inches to increase your turn?

Both good points Paul. At 9:05 this was already a long enough video. I have left out a few and will make a follow up video In the near future. Thanks for your suggestions. Brian

Tried lifting my heel but end up topping the ball!!!😢
@fitzygolfpro2 ай бұрын
Lifting your head in all probability is not what you are doing. Your spine angle is changing through your swing and your head is connected to it. Put a tee on the ground about 4 inches in front of the ball (target side) and try to hit both your ball and the tee. You won't top the ball doing this. Brian

Thanks. Will try tomorrow. Appreciate you replying 😊
