I was skeptical at first but new Sombra is really good. I think my only significant complaint is, with entering stealth now passive and outside of player control, there are situations where it feels janky and can feel unnecessarily punishing. For example, if you translocate to a bit of cover, stealth triggers and then you get winged by the enemy's tracking shots, you lose stealth again immediately and have to wait (and hope you survive) another 3.5 seconds before you can try to hide again. If the player had control over entering stealth, you could translocate to cover and then wait to get out of line of sight before going invis so that you don't immediately lose it. But if that's all I've got to whinge about, I'll call the rework a win.

Stealth definitely feels like the most clunky aspect of the rework so far. Because it's not *really* a passive. It's a cooldown... that's automatic. And it really doesn't feel like there's a coherent reason for why other than that they ran out of buttons.

@@SunnyExMusic Yeah...I've asked myself if it was bugged more than a few times. I mean, I know disable duration was nerfed way down from OW1 (and fine, do what ya gotta do, Blizzard) but sometimes even if it IS working properly, it can be hard to tell if it even did anything.

She feels like a totally different hero. On one hand I do think she is way more healthier to the game this way, but on the other hand.... Her completely unique playstyle that she had since OW1 (yes even the timed translocator one) is now gone for good

She'll have a few waves of balancing until she lands in that sweet spot but the way she can't bail out of every single engagement is a lot healthier and more dynamic gameplay wise for both the enemy team and the Sombra player. I'm having an absolute blast wit new Sombra. Being able to quickly take out a support, and move right back to the front line to assist killing their tank/dps is so satisfying.

The changes are encouraging, the play style seems more fluid and looks like it would fit into more team comps than old Sombra. There's always going to be some tuning that's needed with cooldown times and such, but overall I think it's a good rework. Hopefully they don't muck it up too quickly.

I was terrified of the changes and now that they're here I absolutely love playing Sombra more so than before. I changed mains to Mercy thinking Sombra would be unplayable but now I'm coming back to Sombra with a new love for this playstyle and the refined positioning and quick thinking getaways with new translocate instead of ga.

@@MooshPaw The only clunky thing is try to get stealth to activate when you don't really want to be contesting the objective. If you can't turn and throw a tele then you need to skill up. It's cooldown is already good because it shortens the cooldown of stealth too. So stop taking bad engages that Sombra has allowed us to get away with for ages and you'll see just how much more control you do have.

honestly, i find the interaction between ball and sombra is a lot more interesting lol. she is still annoying with hacks and her high damage, but ball can literally give her a heart attack by NEVER letting her escape him. so sure, you can disrupt ball, but you better kill him or you will be running for your life and he WILL catch up. the matchup is a LOT more evened out. for example, sure she can hack ball out of piledrivers, but now sombras a sitting duck vs a character that can surpass her speed, hit her from across the map, and has three times as much hp on top of overhealth.

Ball actually counters sombra now. Ball can survive hacks much more easily because of the overall reduced damage and high health pool, but my main point is that ball has the mobility to retaliate and chase the sombra after theyve used their teleport. If you continously burst a few bullets at sombra and tickle them, they cant go invis. So if youre already good at tickling the enemy mercy to prevent self heal, youll be good at preventing sombra from re-entering invis.

Sombra is more obnoxius than ever. Translocater is now a proper escape tool which can be countered within other movement/chase skills. But virus is literally cancer, unless you play a one shot character and hit the shot, you are already dead. Not really balanced imo.

She's not just good, she's meta. She's arguably more obnoxious than before because her burst damage is so insanely strong but she has an actual weakness now. It's hard to say which is worse to play against but she's definitely stronger and there's no way they're going to keep her this way.

It's cool to see her become aggressive, but I feel like they need to take another week to polish off the mechanics and remove that detection circle/add an option for us to remove it. It feels clunky coming out of stealth and could definitely be better, but I like that Sombra wasn't gutted, she just doesn't reward players who have no sense of engagement or timing or good decisions with a free escape anymore. She actually seems challenging to play now.

I’m in love with the rework. So fast. So much pressure to so many areas of the map. Good kill potential, but opponents can out play and punish you. Feels like a skill matchup a lot of the time. Both playing with and against, it’s amazing

My main dislike about Sombra 2.0 is how translocator has significantly reduced max range. IMO they should have still made it auto trigger when it lands or hits a wall but removed the 0.25 second auto trigger
